The logic train ran off the tracks when Karnaj said:
I quake with impotent liberal fury.
There are, like, three choice words in that sentence alone.
I would like to point out to those that are looking at this:
Adjustable rear height and windage knobs. A+
Front sight compensator. Which reduces firing signiture when firing in the prone position by reducing the amount of dirt blown when firing. Also allowing you to get back to your center of aim when firing in rapid Succession.A+
Adjustable stock good for close quarter combat. A+
Bayonet stub. For those times that you want to pick things up with the front of your rifle. A+
Nice price also. In Texas that would cost me like 1k +. I am looking at getting an AR-15 which fires the same round and weighs the same 8 pound as the regular M-16A2.
Miss being in the Marines.

Maradon! had this to say about Tron:
A carbine is a rifle that fires pistol rounds, so if you think about it in a roundabout way, that's essentially what it is.
Not necessarily. Carbine is one of those wonderfully vague terms that means several different things. In reference to the M1 Carbine, you're correct; it is, essentially, a rifle length weapon that fires pistol rounds. Azizza's M4 style carbine fires rifle ammunition, but is still called a carbine by virtue of being a shortened version of a full size rifle.
It gets even more confusing when you get to "submachineguns" like the HK-53 and the Micro-Galil, which their manufacturers have designated as SMGs even though they fire rifle ammunition because of their size.
That's why, for the sake of simplicity, I've adopted the term "Schutzenboomer" for all firearms, avoiding all issues of nomenclature altogether. Arttemis fucked around with this message on 02-27-2005 at 04:39 PM.

All I know about carbines is there was one in Firearms that sucked and was eventually removed.
Also the Alien Carbine in Halo 2 really stinks.
But I loved the M4 in Counter-Strike!
