Some are only just getting into level 20 where you choose what kind of summoner you will be. News will be coming.
Personal observations are the Heroic Ops are great! A bard can actually crank out some DPS now! The lotto system for loot distribution is great too.
And I LOVE playing on a RP preferred server!

And i'm not trying to say anything except that the EQ2 con system is a lot like the EQ1 con system. The fact that Mythic stole it for DAOC and changed the colors a smidge has little to do with the conversation.
EQ1: Red, yellow, white, blue, green
DAoC: Purple, Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Green, Gray
EQ2: red, orange, yellow, white, dark blue, light blue, gray
Clearly, EQ2's con system has far more in common with DAoC than it does with EQ1. Not only that, but DAoC's con system has relatively little in common with EQ1's, not a single con color has the same meaning.
That said, the rational conclusion is that, if anyone is indeed copying anyone else, then it is EQ2 copying DAoC since the two systems are by far the most similar.

DAoC has three colors in common with EQ1. None of them are in the same "position" ie a DAoC yellow does not mean the same thing as an EQ yellow. EQ2 has three colors in common with EQ1 and they mean more or less the same thing. EQ2 has five colors in commmon with DAoC. All five of these colors have the same relative meaning as in DAoC. Actually, EQ1's con system is the exact same as EQ2's described above, save without the orange, and with green changed to grey. I am unsure if you played after that change or not, but it was worth mentioning.

You're wrong. Very wrong. You don't have the right colors from EQ2 either, leading me to believe that you have never played the game, and should just shut up right now.
EQ1- Red, Yellow, White, Blue, Green
EQ2- Red, Orange, Yellow, White, Blue, Light Blue, Green, Grey
All the colors mean the exact same thing as they do in EQ1. There is just more definition of yellows by telling you if something is nearly red, and more definition of blues by telling you if something is nearly green. Grey is just there to say the thing isn't even worth your time. DAOC is Purple, Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Green, Gray, the only ones of which mean the same thing being blue, green, and gray.
So 5/5 on colors from EQ1, and 3/7 on colors from DAOC.
So they just added in gray below green, and put one in between yellow and red to make it easier to tell what's going to kick your ass and what you might have a chance at with EQ2.

You're right I forgot about that change. So it's 6/6 colors reused from EQ1.
Instead of just hitting on Rangers, I'll go over the entire scout tree.
What all scouts get:
Stealth. This becomes multiple purpose as you level. For Instance, Predators get see invis with their stealth and Rogues get improved speed.
Backstab. All scouts recieve some kind of super attack, though it varies between the 3. I'll go more into depth per subclass.
Evac. Scouts are the evaccers of EQ2. It is recieved at 25.
Bards (Troubador, Dirge): Twisting of EQ1 is gone. You are a buffing, stealthy Freak of Rainbow Death. Still a Jack-of-all-Trades. You are the lower teir DPS of the scout line but you offer the most utility. This is the Neutral line of the scout classes.
Rogues (Q-Swashbuckler, F-Brigard): You are stealthy AND you have to option to share your stealth with the entire group. Your attacks are mostly position based. You are the middle ground for DPS and Utility for scouts. You're main attacks are fast reuse (30 seconds) but medium damage in comparison to Predators. You can use poisons.
Predators (Q-Ranger, F-Assasin): You are a God of Melee DPS. Your main attack is unmatched by any class in the game, including wizards. Your main attack is also the most restrictive, requiring you to be stealthed and behind the mob. Assassins have the most deadly melee attack in the game, but it has a 5 minute reuse time. Rangers follow close behind with a 1 minute reuse but it does partial elemental damage. The high end ranger attack does Fire and Magic Damage. Both Predators get various Ranged attacks, both have the ability to be deadly from ranged, but Rangers are the most deadly class from Range. Both can use poisons.

Actually I copied them straight from Deth's post, asshole

EQ2- Red, Orange, Yellow, White, Blue, Light Blue, Green, Grey
Which is exactly what I posted for EQ2 except I accidentally left out green. The addition of green supports my argument, by the way.

So 5/5 on colors from EQ1, and 3/7 on colors from DAOC.
And EQ2's con system still has more in common with DAOC than it does with EQ1. Let's do this again with YOUR colors.
EQ1- Red, Yellow, White, Blue, Green
DAOC- Purple, Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Green, Grey
EQ2- Red, Orange, Yellow, White, Blue, Light Blue, Green, Grey
So EQ2 has six colors in common with DAOC in the same relative locations. EQ1 only HAD five colors on release. DAOC has only four colors in common with EQ1 and they are not in the same relative position. If you're going to claim DAOC copied off EQ1 on the basis of similarity, then you HAVE to admit that EQ2 copied off DAOC on the same grounds.
The only reason I persist in this is because of your fanboi insistance on DAoC "copying" off EQ1. If you really want to get into it I could also bring up how the luclin UI was a wanton ripoff of the DAoC UI, right down to the compass and chat tabs.

Relative locations? whatever. Let's actually do a chart here and see how often the colors line up, shall we?
EQ2 Red = EQ1 Red = DAOC Purple
EQ2 Orange = EQ1 Yellow = DAOC Red
EQ2 Yellow = EQ1 Yellow = DAOC Orange
EQ2 White = EQ1 White = DAOC Yellow
EQ2 Blue = EQ1 Blue = DAOC Blue
EQ2 Light Blue = EQ1 Light Blue = DAOC Blue
EQ2 Green = EQ1 Green = DAOC Green
EQ2 Gray = EQ1 Green = DAOC Gray
I think my point is pretty well illustrated here.

OMG
Namely the fact that everything in first person MMOG's from DAoC to AO to WoW to EQ is in fact based on or a response to EQ. If someone didn't like something in EQ, they changed it in their game. It's not a matter of stealing it. It's matter of game evolution.
Maradon wants a villain, and as usual, he wants it to be Sony. Criminy. I am FUCKING SICK TO DEATH of the GOD DAMNED MOTHER FUCKING ARGUMENT REGARDING WHO STOLE WHAT FROM WHOM.

EQ2 STOLE STUFF FROM EQ1

It's kind of hard to steal things from a game you're supposed to be the sequel to. People expect things to be the same in many regards. So it's not suprise that EQII is similar to EQI.

I know. I just knew someone else would say it and actually be serious about it. So I was anticipating that.

Well then.
How's the weather over there?
EQ2 Red = EQ1 Red = DAOC Purple
EQ2 Orange = <EQ1 does not have> = DAOC Red
EQ2 Yellow = EQ1 Yellow = DAOC Orange
EQ2 White = EQ1 White = DAOC Yellow
EQ2 Blue = EQ1 Blue = DAOC Blue
EQ2 Green = EQ1 Light Blue = DAOC Green
EQ2 Gray = EQ1 Green = DAOC Gray
And furthermore, What the hell does it matter what the fucking con colors are? I have a ticket system that uses colors to symbolize the severity of the ticket. I use Red for Critical, Orange for High Priority, Yellow for Priority and Green for Normal.
OMFG I STOLE IT FROM GAMING IT ISN'T LIKE RED SYMBOLIZES A BAD THING OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. Pesco fucked around with this message on 11-18-2004 at 07:25 PM.
