Eeee! Did you do a suicide run the last time you were on EQ2, at least? Say you did!!

I went on a mini raid to Nektulos from Antonica. Holy shit. It's so freaky there.

EDIT: And it sounds like Sweden already has EQ2 for sale! Too bad servers aren't up till the 8th or 9th.

EQ2 interests me greater the more I see of it, and I used to be very critical of it and didn't like it at all.

The 30-day trial of it once it's released will decide if I get it or not.

I have dinner with the folks, but when I come back I'll post my friend's screenshots (he gave me the ok). Yeah, EQ2 really surprised me too. Of course, blah blah, not for everyone, blah blah. I'm definitely sticking with Freeport in release, however, Antonica reminds me of Disneyland

And yes, you CAN see me in this sigpic without cranking up the brightness. XD

Utility is pretty nice. All scouts recieve atleast one run speed buff, tracking, snare, evac ( Yes, scouts are the evaccers in EQ2 ), various self buffs and so on. Poisons are

Haven't seen, but they have some pretty spiffy abilities it looks like. I know one of their fun skills is making a group member of the opposite sex flustered with them. ;o

And Kael:

So mean

Anyway, here are some of my friend's screenshots. They were originally sized for another website, hence the borders.

His first character, a wood elf druid, at the Isle of Refuge. Sorta shows off the water engine.

Just a group resting before a battle

Crafting is a lot more interactive in EQ2 than any other game I've played. With this comes some drawbacks. If you don't pay attention your character can get damaged from using the wrong ingredients, daydreaming, etc. Some people may call this stupid, I think it gives crafters a lot more immersion. Definitely more fun than clicking "combine" 500 times in a row.
***Apparently crafting was given a huge makeover. I haven't tested it recently since I'm not a crafter. Some of this information may be wrong.

Excellent picture of how beautiful EQ2's scenery is. Yes, the clouds aren't OMFG detailed, but they are soft and subtle and absolutely gorgeous. It'd look horrendous if they used those finely detailed cloud photographs that you may find elsewhere. Way too distracting.

Showing off the water technology again (it's based off of Titanic's water technology AFAIK), and the city of Qeynos. Aka Disneyland.

Unlike Disneyland, Freeport experiences actual weather. Rain just plain rocks.

And, of course, when it rains, everything gets wet. Including your character.

Despite the gods not being around, there are still temples. This is the Temple of War in Freeport. Stained glass.

Another scenery shot, this time in Thundering Steppes. With the Irish music.

It's hard to capture battle without a video. I don't think screenshots do it justice.

Another shot of the Wailing Caves, home of the orcs. No idea what's it's based off of from EQ1. LDoN maybe? I quit EQ right after it came out.

And, I'll link some music I've posted before. Just because I can.

Despite the Commonlands being off of Freeport, it gets some pretty spiffy adventure music. I actually use this right before I get ready for DnD nowadays. -_- The composer rocks.

The pirate theme. A shorter version of this is also used as battle music. Rock.

Opening has an Irish sound, then it switches to usage of open strings. Definitely one of my favorites.

Come to WoW.

Life... is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is a... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers.

Illusionist or Coercer? Illusionist is Qeynos.

I'd rather not play a ranger this time around. The only reason I liked rangers so much was because of track. I'll probably choose either a Swashbuckler or Berserker. As I'm leaning toward Swashbuckler, I'll probably just end up in Qeynos.

I tried to play Fable this weekend. I really, really tried. But it was even worse than Metal Gear: Solid for interminable cut scenes and babbling narrators that talked about me in the third person that I just gave up. Before I had to break something. Since, you know, I wasn't so much playing a game as watching a really bad movie.

There's like 5 cut scenes in the whole game.

Sure, three of them are at the beginning, but then there's like one when you get married, and one when you beat the game.
