I'm too lazy to read through, but I'll tell you what I did.

Back around november, I was very stressed out. Changing myself completely helped out a lot.

My hair went from before boot camp when it was about ass length, to after boot camp to about jawline, then I cut it to be about 2 inches long, buzzing it up the back so it looked like a stylized female crew cut. I started wearing the baggy clothes with chains and so on because I like fucking with peoples perceptions. (Who would expect someone who looked so-called "goth" to turn on Garth Brooks on the radio?)

The changes I made helped make me feel better about myself. Thats all that really counts. Find something YOU like, for you.

What? Long or short hair?

I dont know of any relatively recent long hair pics, but I can arrange to get a short hair pic when I get a haircut again. (I let it grow out for a month and now it looks like a bowl cut)

My boot camp pictures have my short hair around jawlength but I'll have to see if they are able to be sent to me.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.. I might just go to the hairdresser and tell her to dye it whatever colour she thinks would look good.. If I have the money... We'll see...

As for some of the guestions....

I have a straight iron, but it just takes me buckloads of time to straighten my hair. I have a natural *WTFY* wave to it that doesn't look nice just 'normal'. And if I use a curling spray and diffuser, it only looks nice half up, half down. X_X;;

And.. I hate multiple braids.

I thought about putting some black or red in my hair (like Aury suggested) but again, I'll get kicked out.

long hair is the sexxor. I dont think its all that difficult to manage. Mine is mid back and I get along fine. I think if you want a change though you should leave your hair alone and try some green contacts. I think you would look uber sexy with green eyes.

yeah money could be a problem. But i think non presciption contacts are hella cheap, i would think cheaper then going to get your hair dyed at a salon. And I think you can wear nonpersciption under glasses. (and your glasses mixed with green eyes would be hot)

I understand the hair-o-evil.

Unfortunately being a guy, I just pull mine back into a ponytail or use my hat to hold it back. Otherwise I get this Cousin IT thing going on and that's just not pretty.

Then again, I'm pretty fugly, so maybe I should go with the face-obscuring option.

I honestly think you would look great as a brunette with highlights. Dark hair with blue eyes is so totally sexy, you would have a sexy librarian thing going on.

I have curly hair too, and I was scared when I had my waist-length hair cut off, but at the same time, I needed a change. I wanted something sophisticated and more my age. Mine looks much better straight than curly, so I have to blow-dry it straight with a round brush. The curls help add body to it, like perms do.

What you can do is go look at the books your hairstylist has, and have them tell you what style would fit your face well. I think a rich brown with gold and red highlights would look super nice on you though.

Wearing non-prescription contacts is bad for your eyes in general, especially if you buy them from somewhere that doesn't sell prescription contacts. Businesses aren't required to have the same safety precautions for making/selling the non-prescription ones. This can lead to you having major problems with your eyes. This is ignoring the fact that most people are lazier in their care of non-prescription non-disposable as well. I recommend against doing this, especially if you're going to buy cheap ones.

What Tal said, plus you have gorgeous eyes, no reason to change the color. If you had darker hair, it would make your eyes totally "pop", people would think you were wearing contacts, when you aren't!

As hard as it is to believe given who's posting this I don't mean any offense, but losing weight would be a much better way of changing how you look than getting a haircut or whatever.

edit: and don't get your hair cut

Okay, ignoring the fact that Jens just said I was fat...

I bought hair dye today. "Rich Mohagony" It's basically a dark brown with a tinge of red to it. I actually wanted a semi-permanant dye, but they don't seem to carry it anymore.

I've never done brown hair before.. But yeah.
