Never played Morrowind.
I'm telling ya, when I go to Items>Other, they're not there.
If I hit up and use the quick menu, they're there, but I can't do shit with them.

How far are you Bajah? I think I'm near the end, because I'm 42 years old. I'll just leave it at that so I don't spoil anything haha
I'm 42 as well.
If you just run around doing nothing at all (except aging and getting excercise ), can you die of old age?

You can't die of old age, you stop at 65. And that's interesting, I thought aging was based on quests, not on progress.
Using magic also ages you very very fast. supposedly heavy magic users can become like 65 years old in only a week or so.

We're at just about the same place, Faz.

This is what Lenlalron Flameblaster is doing. This is what I want Lenlalron Flameblaster to do :Are there like 'skills'? Like, you know, advanced roll or something like that. I'm seriously doubting it, but, other than having magic stuff, just maxing stats seems really stupid to me. (I have thief stuff too. But, I mean, REAL skills like power shot or something like that. C'mon!) Other than that, and the ridiculous heads at the beginning, I'm enjoying it.
Skills were kind of incorporated into Magic, so they wouldn't have to code in another system just for skills. There's things like Ghost Sword, Multi Shot, Battle Charge, Berserk, etc.

My god, everyone puts so much stock in Penny Arcade's opinion on everything. It is just amazing.
Sure, it is a great comic, but they aren't the be all end all of gaming.
Reviewers seem to like this game a good bit, too. I'm more willing to trust 10+ reviewers who all seem to generally agree on the quality of the game as opposed to a guy who runs a webcomic. Falaanla Marr fucked around with this message on 09-17-2004 at 11:47 PM.
He's got a good point about the loading, but the game is pwn despite that.

Now wait just a minute here, sassyfrass.
Gabe is not just a guy who runs a webcomic, he is also a guy that plays video games for a living. For the most part, he and Tycho's reviews are accurate. If he has had a bad one, so be it, not everyone will like the same game.
But I think it's a little foolish to discredit Gabe as a whole just because you dislike one of his reviews.

I haven't even played Fable yet. And hell, I'm not even discrediting Gabe. For all I know, I may disagree with him.
I just find it funny that people claim One guy as the be all end all of reviews. I mean, all these online magazines (IGN, Gamespot and others) have people that play games for a living, yet their reviews aren't worthwhile for some reason. That is what I'm not fully understanding here.
I mean, it seems like Gabe could say "Stabbing yourself in the eye is FUN!" and people would do it and they'd have fun with it.
It just seems that people take Gabe's opinion to heart too easily and dont care about any other opinion. Falaanla Marr fucked around with this message on 09-18-2004 at 04:06 AM.
I was under the impression that once the main quest was finished, you got to do the sandbox thing and run around (albeit without quests). Did I miss something, or did this get taken out?

The difference is that Gabe isn't PAID to give a good review. He speaks his mind, and isn't afraid to say "This game fucking sucks ass" when it does and IGN gives it a "9.8 out of TEN! LOL".
He (And Tycho) make up most of gamers anyway.. One's more into RPGs and building characters, the other is into good competition, action, and adventure. I value their opinions because if I rent a game that they say sucked "just to prove them wrong", I end up agreeing with them anyway. And any game I've bought on their reccomendation (Even a few through their ads) have been oodles of fun.
Oh well... tomorrow I'll be getting my Xbox and Fable, and the DVD kit, probably.
Now, to figure out where to put it in my room....

Wait a while. When you return later is should say you have some rent waiting for you. When that happens, run to the house and collect it from the bag(s) infront of the sign.

I hit 36 and would've gotten higher if I'd noticed my mana was almost out... and then I didn't feel like building it up again.

Funny that -- Generally, the majority of print and online media agree on the merits of a game.
And no, members of the media aren't paid off to give good reviews. Sure, they get paid to review games, just like you got (are getting?) paid to sell games. Just because they do it for a living...that doesn't make their opinion less valid, particularly when 10+ different people all agree with a review.
Not to mention the freelancers that review a good majority of games for IGN. They will either not get paid at all (most of the time), or if you've done many reviews for them, you'll get paid 100 bucks for a review. Compared to what you can make freelancing for other media (anywhere from a couple hundred to a couple thousand per article dependent on the magazine)...that is chump change.
The people making the money for the network and the people reviewing games stay separate to avoid bias. The advertisers have no influence on the content of a review...the reviewers don't even know what ads are being run unless they actually see them on the site.
Even with print media, the accusations of being paid off to give a good review are crap. I studied this a good bit last semester over the bigger name magazines (EGM, Gamepro and such) and found that games with tons of advertising didn't necessarily do ANY better than games with no advertisement, and found MANY instances where the score for a game without advertising was 2-3 points HIGHER than a game with advertising.
I'm not completely discounting Gabe and Tycho's opinion either. But taking one opinion and running with it is a bad thing. Most of IGN's reviews agree with my opinions on a game, so they're good for me...but when I'm deciding on a game to buy with reviews, I check gamestats.com or gamerankings.com which take an average of all the print/online media and give a score that way.
note: I am not saying that a review has never ever been bought from the game. 99.9% of the time they aren't, but there is always the rare time that it'll happen. It doesn't happen every time someone disagrees with a review though. Falaanla Marr fucked around with this message on 09-19-2004 at 10:42 PM.
