Yup, AMC has shown all of them at one point or another. That's part of the reason why I AMC; its just cool like that. AoD has also been shown on Comedy Central and USA I think.

From what the rumors used to be, the reason Sci Fi started to turn downhill was due to a new VP from Time Warner being put in charge... She had a purist view of Science Fiction and didn't think comedy shows and the like belong there. She was personally the one that axed MST3K, Sliders, and Farscape (The three top shows the network had, in their respective time frames), always in favor of either old-fashioned black-and-white sci fi movies, or her new brand of crappy "original" ripoffs of the old-fashioned stuff. Unfortunately, every time the TW heads get pissed off enough about her discontinuing series that are actually starting to make money, either a new hit show pops up and saves her career (Sliders coming in to take MST3K's place, and Farscape coming in to take Slider's place), or she manages to re-hire the old show to save her own neck (Farscape). Don't know if she's still running the place or not, but from the sounds of the crappy programming still on Sci Fi, she probably is.

I remember watching the very first episode of sliders, it was really cool for the first season or so. I thought it got too complicated in the later seasons.

not to sound nitpikcy but Snakeheads are a realy modern asian river fish, the only thing in that movie they made up was the legs and pack behavior. Snakeheads are a big problem in the U.S freshwaters.

I agree with something is up with Sci-fi though, none of the movies they show lately have ever been in theaters almost. All straight to video or Sci-Fi 'original' movies.

Oh yeah and Kolchak rules, hands down.

Most of the enjoyable movies SciFi has played lately are SciFi originals, which is why it doesn't go to theatres.

Also I would like to bring back the invisible man show, that was pretty good!

But right now there is far to much emphasis on Stargate, check out the website and look at their daily programmings

Man, if Lyinar thought AMC sucked because they showed a great classic movie like Scarface, wait until she hears that one.

I've watched Army of Darkness on there myself. And I still think the new AMC sucks, because they won't show anything anymore older than the 70s. They should have made a new network for newer classic movies, and not taken away the good ones that AMC used to have.

Ja'Deth Issar Ka'bael had this to say about Jimmy Carter:
They show old sci-fi shows during the day. When I was a little kid, my Dad showed me this program from the 70's called "Kolchak The Night Stalker". It was the spiritual predecessor to X-Files. Was about a newspaper reporter in Chicago named Karl Kolchak who, in his investigations, would encounter supernatural monsters (zombies, werewolves, renegade native american shamans, rat-men from Jewish mythology, Cajun boogymen etc). No one else would believe him about the supernatural (and there was the insinuation that the police were actively suppressing the truth at times), so it usually fell to him to straighten things out. X-Files outright stole some stories from Kolchak, though I'd prefer to think of it as homages.

Anyways, I was flipping through channels the other day and they had a Kolchak marathon on. Very very cool.

I have this fantasy where they did a Kolchak/X-Files crossover. Hey why not?

Bakura: That's my Zorc.

Now, I disagree that movies like Scarface aren't classics. Scareface is a classic in every sense of the word.

But... Army of Darkness? That's just silly.

Every decade has had it's major blockbusters, it's cult classics, etc. So why is it that when I tune in to AMC they have crap I've never heard of on, but promise something I'd actually watch at some obscure hour?

Didn't I just say they should have made a network for newer classic movies? I never said Scarface wasn't a classic, but AMC used to be for like 40s, 50s and even before that. Then rather than gradually adding newer stuff, they just totally switched over from being a network for older movies to being a 70s and above one. That's what sucks.

If you want the older stuff, you gotta hope your cable/satellite provider has Turner Classic Movies.
