You don't happen to be located in Southern California by any chance? If so it would be cool for our Mastiffs to socialize. He's so shy around the little dogs because they crowd him at Dog Beach. His size attracts the other dogs (and people) but he still thinks he's a tiny puppy and he shys away. I think it would do him some good to spend more time among his own kind to find himself.

If Monty asserts himself as dominant over Cedar now, it'll probaly be that way when they get older. Happened to our old dog... we got him as a puppy, and the cats quickly put him in his place, and though he grew up to be a big dog... the cats still layed down whoop ass on him.

I guess it's the same as me not liking small dogs because every one that I've met (with the exception of two) is yappy and annoying.
Doesn't matter though.. Dogs still own cats. My own cat hates me. Unless he wants food.

No disagreement here, but 24 hours has shown that the puppy has inordinately more energy than Monty, and may get dominance simply because of Monty's fatigue. I'm hoping that them sleeping next to each other as they did this afternoon is a step to them getting along rather than one being "in charge."
