Suddar probably says this to all the girls:
Moulin Rouge, which makes me king pussy.
Chicago is a good use of the musical to tell the story, but I'm glad I rented and didn't buy the DVD. I couldn't stand Moulin Rouge.
I did see The Sound of Music as a kid. I remember liking but not loving it. Might have to re-rent it.
Does Willy Wonka count? That's another all-time fave! [ 11-01-2003: Message edited by: Vernaltemptress ]

I guess Willy Wonka counts. I LOVE Gene Wilder! He was perfect for that part.
I havn't seen Chicago or The Sound of Music or the Kind and I. I hate that Renee chick and Sound of Music doesn't appeal to me really.

How.... Demos.... uughhhhhh:
I'm suprised some others like Les Miserables and Cats haven't been mentioned. Especially Cats with all the furry lovers on here.
The only CATS I've seen is when my sister was in it when she was in grade 3.. ;P Never seen Les Mis. I'm poor so I can't go to musicals that much.
I liked Mama Mia too.

Oh, and I have to mention Cabaret before I forget. That's a good one too. [ 11-01-2003: Message edited by: Suddar ]

Can you believe Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are producing a remake of Willy Wonka? I'm extremely leery as to how they can improve on that movie.
Also, last August, Bloodsage and I drove by the town shown at the end of the movie during the flyover. It's a cute little walled town.

I heard about that! I also heard that Johnny Depp was going to be Willy Wonka.... O_o I think he could pull it off.. But not like Gene Wilder. :/
As if it could be any other.

South Pacific, only because I was in a highschool production of it.
Cats
42nd Street
Nachum, the beggar!
I like the movie version of Hello, Dolly! because he was in it
I love Les Miserables, and I saw that on stage for my 17th birthday
I adore the stage version of Beauty and the Beast.
I agree that Yul Brenner in the movie The King and I is one sexy beast.
Miss Saigon made me cry.
I think overall there is only one musical I can't stand. Cats.
Lyinar Ka`Bael, Piney Fresh Druidess - Luclin
.... I'm a sucker for Judy Garland. So sue me.
Oh, and Into the Woods. And West Side Story. And Phantom, for the sheer story. And Les Mis. And RENT. And... and... *could go on forever. *
Jesus Christ Superstar was good.
Man of Lamancha was also wonderful.
To many good ones to name.
This isn't a "omg all u ppl haev bad taste fux u losers" post, but rather a "that type of performance isn't for me " post, so please don't jump down my throat and rip me to shreds from the inside
Movies..there are almost too many to name, I can't even think of them all...King and I, Cabaret, RHPS and Moulin Rouge, Little Shop of Horrors, Grease..
