More than likely gonna stick with the Fae staple myself and go Mithra Ranger/Beastmaster. Maybe Ranger/BlackMage

Why be a mithra if there is a chance that you will want to be a BM later on? I would go with hume. Just no reason to limit yourself to melee only types.

BM only gonna get a few levels in for support spells to be more rangerly if I do it. Not gonna be a caster. Never casters. Mithra, because if I stick with the Fae theme, it applies.
The whole reason I bought EQ was because when I was in Beta they promised the Vahshir or whatever would be a playable race... Took em 3 1/2 years to get em, and I had quit long before they came.
When I play games I dont play to numbers or inerant advantages. Yeah they are good to have, and benefits are always useful, but gonna play what suits my feeling for a character. *shrugs*
Mithra Thief/Ninja! Dual-wielding in nifty black leather ;D
Or this is what my friend "in the beta" had told me.

Warrior/Dragoon but doesnt subjob mean second job? So it would be Warrior/Black Mage for me.
We'll be teaming up, so it's a white mage main, and summoner sub for me.

What a long, boring wait.

As a tip, I hear that advanced jobs (especially dragoons!) are bad as subjobs. They have abilities that don't carry over very well, apparently.Or this is what my friend "in the beta" had told me.
Well, samurais do well as a subjob for melees due to their TP boosting abilities, but thats about it.

Ninjas do well in some cases as well. That's about it though. Its also a bad idea to do a melee main/mage sub or vice versa in *most* cases.
And I know its late, but some advice to Fae. If you're going to go beast tamer, make it your main. Beast tamers are horrible unless they're a main job, with no exception. Plus rangers are hard to play unless you have a TON of spare cash as ammo get really expensive.

I had planned to have a Beastmaster as a main... It honestly sounds like a more rangerly class than Rangers.
But overall, I dont mind a little extra work or being a bit gimped if I am happy with the character either way... I played EQ for three years, and never saw a level past thirty. Still in leather and using gimped gear, but I was happy.
I'm an oddball, what most people find fun doesn't suit me, and visa versa.

Oh, not putting you down or anything. Always the player's choice of course, and I'm a powergamer type so tend to gear myself towards that type of play. Just saying that BST isn't really effective as a subjob. Since its capped at half level, you can effectively get pets only half your level. And for the ranger, well its really too dammed expensive for someone who isn't well set with cash. Just trying to give some advice to make life easier and such on ya.
