1. The next fan faire will be in Vegas again in March. Next one after that they're looking to do somewhere in the Southeast (Orlando, Atlanta, and New Orleans were mentioned). Lyinar and I will be doing our damnedest to fly down for it...and yeah we want to meet all you ECers down there. Even the ones who we haven't always gotten along with.

2. Drunk Veeshan players getting everyone to chant "Povar sucks" at the banquet and kickoff parties was much more amusing than Drunk Veeshan Players screaming "Veeshan" every ten seconds.

3. Povar players have too much money on their hands...they were buying the MC drinks. Constantly. He was drinking more than Callalron and Parcelan combined tonight, but he handled himself well.

4. Mith Marr players are table-stealing honkies. (Friday night they were a huge-ass contingent and I heard Saturday night that they had co-opted a number of tables from other servers...including, I imagine, the missing Luclin table. That's okay...we got a table by the stage behind the SOE staff tables. So neener neener.)

5. Having met with Rodent King in real life, I have to say a few things. First off, the guy LOOKS like an elf. A Tolkien elf. He's tall, slender-built, has the angular features. And he really looked good in his Necro costume (got his nephew in a skeleton costume to be his pet). We were rooting for him...but someone playing a corpse (ugh), a guy playing a Vah Shir in a fur suit (actually pretty cool) and half-plate armor, and one of the SOE head GM's dressed as a bearded female dwarf won the costume awards. Anyway...Rodent King's a pretty cool guy. He and his nephew had a great sense of humor, and unlike Davidson (who RK tells us was there), you could actually find RK. It was, however, unusual to not see his trademark RK mouse face. I imagine any pictures of him that reach the net will probably have the face imposed over his own.

6. People paying $1000 for a banner off the wall declaring their class? Way too freaking much.

7. Hotel food is fucking expensive...$4 for a one liter bottle of water? No spank you. Took our own stuff to chug. I didn't even venture into the financial black hole that is the mini bar/fridge.

8. Driving in Chicago is for the birds. Never again. Under any circumstances.

9. PO-VAR SUCKS! PO-VAR SUCKS!

But for you, Parce, I will get into my costume (sans the blue greasepaint) again and take a pic of me attacking the darkness with a magic missile.

Our table was missing on thursday night as well. So we took a table that was to the left of the stage up front, right next to the food!

RK did look like a high elf, he didn't need the make up! His dress up was pretty cool.

I took a train into chicago, it worked out great for me. 6.10 for the train then 5 for the cab. I live in kenosha so it wasn't far. There's no way I would drive there even if I could.

Those drunk people where crazy, the guy who bought the ranger sign for 500 must have been totaly bombed. I found it ironic the storhammer sign went for 75.

But yeah...if we aver go to Chicago again, we'll either take the train from Indianapolis to Chicago then hit the subway/trams around town, or just park somewhere outside of town and tram around. Driving those streets is for the birds.

The cleric I heard went for a grand.

Was it just me or was there too much smokeing going on in the hall and down in the bar area? It was too much for me, thats why I stuck around in the bazaar most of the time.

Yeah we just missed you when RK saw you during the Live Quest thing. One of the several times we missed you by like...fifteen seconds. Probably walked right past you and your back was turned or something. Ironic, no?

And yeah...I figured a certain demographic would show up; a lot of computer folks smoke. A lot of gamers smoke. But man...a significant percentage of the 2000 or so people who showed up were chain smokers and they were lighting up constantly. Talk about a fire hazard hehehe

I'll start saveing up my nickles and dimes for the vegas fanfair if thats true. I have a good chunk of guildies from there.

The bar was selling soda that was half a can's worth in a bottle for 2 dollars. Good thing I brought 3 bottles of water in my backpack or I would have to take out a loan.

As for New Orleans, should that happen, perhaps that as well. We shall see!

Yeah, kinda had an hour drive between the hotel and my house each night, so I got maybe an hour of sleep each night after I got off of playing EQ when I got home. Anywho, here's the pics.

Me, Jadeth, and Lyinar. Yay. (Whoah, I do look like an elf. )

Just the nephew and I in the final costumes. So many people asked for pics with us, and there was a reporter from Wired magazine that invterviewed me a while about how I got so involved in EQ to wear that costume.

Highlight of the weekend though, was winning this thing at the auction for 50$ (Wanted to get the monk one, but gave up after someone put in 100$ for it, thought it eventually sold for like 400 or so.)

It's legal anywhere in Nevada but Clark County, which is where Las Vegas and Boulder City and Henderson and the other big cities are.

Basically it's only legal in the small towns where the whores make up most of the population.

March for Vegas is definitely confirmed, though. Heard about it from Tommy himself last night. And it's the five year anniversary, so you know it's going to be special.

It had unfortunately rubbed off mostly by then, but I painted a pine tree on my stomach in green paint. And I introduced myself on the stage for the contest as "Lyinar, the Piney Fresh Druid"
