Duidism and celtic shamanism is also a native and folk religion. Just because they got filtered into all that crappy "Ohh.. I'm a pagan.. my crystals talk to me..." neo "mainstream".. garbage, and not Shintoism (Though granted I have met a few who have started to do that... made me wanna ring their necks..) doesn't make it any less polyteistic.
No, you're right, fitting it under a word wouldn't fit right, especialy with how it's deffinition gets twisted.
