They're talking about the catholic church's child abuse image not the gay child abuse image.
Church teaches this: You don't have sex outside of marrige. It doesn't matter what you're attracted to, you don't have sex outside of marrige. Since only a man and woman can get married, gay people just shouldn't have sex.
