Falaanla Marr had this to say about Knight Rider:
I'm sort of partial to the mage changes made post vision, they finally fixed us. Under the vision they ignored us.But, well...under the vision there was alot of GOOD stuff too.
I'm sorry, but 1-50 has become FAR too easy nowadays :/
1-50 is also the worst part of the game.

How.... Caanis Lupus.... uughhhhhh:
Of course the asshats that used that to loot no drop they sold on E-Bay...
Before /consent was taken out, no drops weren't lootable off player corpses.
They took it out, because people kept complaining about thieves.

Ahhh...I spead the misinformation again! Oh well...it saved me and a friend some grief a couple times. This was way before I became a port monkey and had ran from Kelethin to Permafrost with out a bind anywhere in between. A friend ran from North Karana, looked for my corpse, looted, and brought it back to Butcher ring for me. Wonder if it was that hard to make a /drag command...
quote:
Lenlalron Flameblaster had this to say about dark elf butts:
There is a drag command.
Read drag command as I can consent to allow someone to drag or I can consent someone to loot.

Caanis Lupus impressed everyone with:
Read drag command as I can consent to allow someone to drag or I can consent someone to loot.
You can consent to allow someone to drag. That's what /consent does now.

So quoth Lyinar Ka`Bael:
You can consent to allow someone to drag. That's what /consent does now.
But you can't consent someone to loot. That's what he's been saying.

When the babel fish was in place, it was apparent Koosh Man said:
But you can't consent someone to loot. That's what he's been saying.
Nope. I can't say I miss that, though. It was convenient to let your friends loot your body and bring you your things, but there was far too much leeway to abuse it and too many people got victimized because they trusted people they shouldn't.
I can't really think of a way they could make it safe, either, because the loot would need to go back to the person it belongs to. They could theoretically have it when it's looted, it automatically goes back to the dead person's inventory, but just imagine how complicated that would be for every person in the game and if they were all in different zones.
The current setup can be inconvenient, but at least your things are safe with it.

Plus, at higher levels when all your items are no drop, it's pretty worthless anyway.

That too.

I don't really have any reason as to why, but I liked the game before Aradune left. It's as nebulous as the Vision itself... Maybe because back then there actually more social aspect and challenge than sitting on your fucking butt in some plane.

Tier spewed forth this undeniable truth:

As opposed to sitting on your butt in some Dragon's Lair in Lavastorm?
You had to take time to travel places, and that was half the fun. Now days its click click i'm there!
And I know no one wants to hear it, but this sounds a hell of a lot like what happened to UO.

Dave obviously shouldn't have said:
1/50 is the most fun part of the game, back in the kunark days. You had to take time to travel places, and that was half the fun. Now days its click click i'm there!
...that sucked ass. wtf?

Yeah, but putting in PoK sorta gimped the game.
And totally screwed druids and wizards.

Yeah, because it was one of the coolest zones around.

Yeah, man.
Quellious all the way yo~

It was better when it was just RoK and before Velious. Had the most fun then.

Here's a newsflash: Not everyone agrees with you.
When 51+ first came out, it was gimped and unbalanced as fuck. Even now, it's still god damn painful to gain those levels... Long as heck if you go in old world, though that gave awesome opportunity for social stuff and whatnot. Plain boring if you go in PoP. I still remember when being 55+ was basically a status symbol, for that difficulty factor alone.
I liked the kunark era most.
Not.
Vision blew. I play a lot more since the Vision got poked in the eye.

There was much rejoicing when Liam said this:

Me too. Back when I started, I walked everywhere. (Though that's mostly because I didn't know there actually were other means of travel besides walking the occasional boat ride.) Then I played a Bard. I think I got spoiled by the speed that they have because now whenever I play another class, everything seems so agonizingly slow. :/
I loved rathe moutains, with only 10 people max out there at one time. Going back into town with k's of plat to restock supplys buy new gear then go back running for an hour or so back, it fit my idea of fun. And totaly fit my idea of a fantasy world based game.
I can honstly say pre kunark was way more fun that it is now. But that may be because there was still areas to explore. It seemed to me that every expansion seemed to be smaller and smaller. I'm looking forward to LDON, it sounds to be bigger than pop. Even bigger for the non uber guild members.

I had the most fun in the game when i was first able to make the cross norrath trip by myself.
Sure, it took three tries, but hey, I made it!

Dave had this to say about Duck Tales:
The luclin portals and pop portals not only shrunk the world like the internet and planes does today, it took away part of the core reason for being a druid/wizard.
Playing a dr00d maybe. I didn't pick druid for my class because I wanted to play Port Bitch all the time and bring in tons of plat every day. I became a druid because I enjoyed the class. I like the change, because it weeded out a lot of those who were only in it for the money.

I think he meant that being able to get around quickly should be a privilidge of certain classes, and a large part of being a wizard or druid was the ability to get around quickly.
