I wouldn't mind writing, but is the site going to be news, rant, commentary (same as rant, but without the bitterness) or a mix?

Sent in my submissions.

Len's RPG corner could also be revived.

Hahahahaha.

Grammar is your enemy! - While being able to understand someone's sentences might seem like a good idea for a proper essay, complaining on a forum scarcely leaves time for such trivialities. Write fast! You're angry, grrr! Make that show, and forget about things like capital letters, punctuation, and verbs.

Q: When do you expect the site will go into launch? Month, two?

I will submit several articles on EverQuest, Planetside, and possibly Shadowbane if I start playing that more often, when I can think up something good to write an article on.

News Flash!

The winds of change are blowing, and this is the message they carry. Lightning drivers rejoice! Lightning tanks now fit inside of the Galaxy drop ship. New spawn times: Facilities 20 seconds, AM S 30, Tower is 40. These times might change, depending on the game flow tonight. If you don’t like it, bitch politely on the forums and it might get better. Might. Darklight Implant users now carry an icon next to their name when the implant is active. The icon will only appear at 40m or closer, goodluck infiltrators.

And there is a little mini article by me. Yes, I am bored. Yes, I did cut it off at the end. Yes, I will shut up now.

I'd be interested in writing. I think I write fairly well and I play DAoC, but not to a great enough extent to speak authoritatively about it. If you need a general topic/subject-I'm-knowledgable-in-columnist, I'm your man.

Well, I like to think I have the ability to write, though that can only be left to the testimony of my fellow EC'ers.

However, I do actively play planetside, I appreciate taking an objective and unbiased view towards news and presenting cases on both, or even all three, sides. I would also like to think I have a good sense of humor, even if it chooses not to show itself here. So, yeah, i'd like to be a planetside writer, or else i'll have to eat your babies.

would this be All MMOG, All the Time or would the writers be able to crack stuff out for platform and other computer game genres?

Is it possible to write articles discussing general MMOG theory and practice? Because I only play one of these games right now, but I've investigated several in contemplation of playing them... and, well, I think it'd be fun to write some articles on similarities of concept between massively-multiplayer game-styles.

Furthermore, can we do P&P RPGs? Parce has been known to shine at this, and I have more than a few books of secondary sources I'd be quite happy to review for folks.

Basically... can I write, too, even though I don't play (m)any of these games (poor college student)?

I echo Gee's question, and ask additionally about game-related short fiction, poetry, photos of anal rapings, etc.?

I'm open to just about anything you can make a good pitch for, and that I think might have wide enough interest. The front page will be getting the ability to filter by post categories, so there's no reason not try to include everything tech/gaming; if people don't want to read it, they can just set their filter to only show UO posts or whatever (yeeech).

Damn that sounds interesting, wish I had more time. Just out of curiosity though, what kind out language would we be allowed to use / not use?
Life... is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is a... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers.

I have a secondary source book on a subject mostly covered only by netbooks online, which might be of interest to people. If I can find some time in my schedule (stupid finals), I will most definitely write up a review for everyone and send it your way.

Ok, serious question.

Even if you're not a main writer, can you still submit stuff? Or do you have to become a writer first?

I like my writing stuff, and if it isn't just all MMOG I might submit little somethings, but I'm far too broke to be any kind of regular. Once I get DE SCANNAR workin', a comic is even a possibility, but we ARE talking possibilities here, not definites.

On a serious note, do you have anyone signed up to do X-Box game reviews?

I could turn out one a week without much problem, if no one else is filling the niche.

You can submit stuff even if you're not an editor. PM it to any of the site's editors (the people who post on the main page), and they'll take it, maybe clean it up a bit, and post it (while giving you due credit of course).

And for everyone else that's expressed an interest in writing in this thread, please submit an example of your writing to me via PM. I'm holding front page articles to a high standard of quality, and I need to make sure you're up to the task -- and if not, I need to give you individual pointers to get you in the right direction.

I started writing up something on Asheron's Call 2, up until I realized there was nothing to say except it's far from finished.

And since I have no idea what else to write on... Too bad!

Depends. What's the context?

If it's a short update, or your style, it's pretty good. It's easy to understand and stuff.

For an editorial or something more opinionated, it's a bit worse, because you want to keep people reading.
