Hey there's legislation in the works that black folks are trying to get passed to make the government pay for the inequality blacks have suffered in the wake of their enslavement in the United States.

Nice pipe dream, but it'll never happen.

I'd prefer to pay the rednecks for their position of being the brunt of every american joke world wide, before I paid the great great grandchild of someone that was a slave just because a person of my color owned their ancestor

Hey my only ancestor on this continent in that time period was a Mohawk Indian, and they're part of the Iroquois Nation in western New York.

I fully support reparations for slaves.

If anyone can prove they were a slave, the government should find the owner and force him or her to pay reparations.

Sorry, but it's specifically unconstitutional to hold one's descendants responsible for an ancestor's crimes, so taxing the rest of us to pay reparations is right out. Further, since I'm pretty damned sure no current US citizens have ever been slaves, the point is moot.

My answer to the rest: get a fucking job and quit whining about how bad your ancestors had it.

Well, I agree with BloodSage most of all, cause he put it very simply and eloquently without melodrama. But there IS slavery in the US today, as with any other country. Its not legal though, and not color discriminatory. It happens with a lot of (illegal) immigrants who have no other choice than to serve a 'master'. And when it is discovered, it is done away with. I see no extremist groups protesting this form of slavery, do you?

So people need to take the stick out of their anus and take another look at themselves. These 'former slaves cause their skin is a certain color' have it a lot better than a lot of the people in this world.
