Hmm. Sorry I didn't respond when you put this up, Bloodsage, I didn't see it. That must have been during the 5am baby feed.

Anyway. I was toying with the idea of waiting til my three year anniversary to officially say hi, but Delidgemond outed me the other day. Occasionally I've sent off the odd pm to people here if I thought I had something to say that might be helpful to them, but for the most part I've stayed quiet (partly because I don't have a lot of time to write, and partly because it's just not my way to talk unless I think I have something that'd be of interest to someone else to hear).

Since you asked, and I don't want anyone to think I'm an -abnormally- creepy lurker, here's the important bits about myself: I'm married, I have a six month old son, and I'm doing my best to figure out how to be a good mom and a freelance artist all at the same time. I honestly do not remember how I found these boards the first time. Then again, since lately I can barely remember to how to make toast, I suppose that's not too surprising. You all seem to have a lot of fun, and I enjoy listening to the things you find to talk about and visiting the links you put up here.

I now present you your long-delayed hazing opportunity. Begin!

Congratulations on baby Pilikia!

It probably was 5am when I first posted--I'm EST+6, and was bored. You were one of about four people on line.

You seem too normal to haze. . .so welcome to EC. Uh, two years late.

well, i can say thid from experience, but please, stay at home with your kids. I was raised by a stay-at-home mom, and some of my fondest memories are from childhood.

Mom used to babysit at our house, and we would sometimes wake up and come downstairs to find six or eight other neighborhood kids watching cartoons, mom making breakfast for everybody, and everything was good. Then we all went out to the bus stop and went to school, and then after school all the kids would be at my house again until they got picked up by their parents on the way home from work.

My mom was mother to half the kids in the neighborhood, and they all loved her for it. So please, even once your beautiful little boy starts going to school, try to be there for him when he leaves, and when he comes home, because that's what he needs.

(and you're lucky, you can do amazing artwork even at home, so that way you can be a real Mom with a career.)

Bite me.

No, Really. Bite me.

WTF?

What she chooses to do with her life is none of our business.

Both of my parents worked, for example, and we moved around a bunch when I was a kid.

I not only have happy memories, but I'm a very successful adult. So don't harass the notn00b by invading her personal life. Stick to the traditional boiling acid and feral chipmunks.

That's nice, but the shading on the dress below the belly is a little curious.

I don't know how to be sexy. If I catch a girl looking at me and our eyes lock, I panic and open mine wider. Then I lick my lips and rub my genitals. And mouth the words "You're dead."

I made a promise when I first became a mom that, outside of obvious cases of abuse, I would do my best not to judge the way other people raise their children. I fail a lot in this, because it's hard, but I still usually manage to keep my observations to myself.

That said, it's our family's intention to make whatever sacrifices are necessary to make sure that one of us is always home with our son. I think that's what will be best for -my child-, though I am sure there are many cases where it's in the best interests of a family for both parents to work outside of the home. I'm looking for ways in which I can add to our income by working from home, during the times he's asleep or is doing ok entertaining himself.

Thanks for the art compliments; I spent the better part of yesterday getting constructive criticism from some published artists I know, and boy is my ego sore now. (And cut me some slack on that colored pencil stuff, it's 13 years old. )

I'm sure at least a couple people here would be interested in commissioning something if that was something you wanted to do.

Once I'm ready to do commission work (meaning once I feel like I'll be able to get the work done and back to clients in a reasonable amount of time), I'll surely let you all know. And I'll, er . . . try to think of more things to say here. Thanks for welcomes.

Grammar is your enemy! - While being able to understand someone's sentences might seem like a good idea for a proper essay, complaining on a forum scarcely leaves time for such trivialities.
