I think it's a good idea.
What we need is for people to take a little more personal responsibility for the well-being of the EC community. Perhaps with acknowledgement of tenure will come a sense of that responsibility.
What do I mean by that?
Not, "OMG I'm better than you n00b, do what I say," that will inevitably crop up now and again, but rather the useful sorts of peer pressure we generally bring to bear when someone is truly out of line.
Does this mean we should follow the current trend and frown on everything that isn't happiness and sunshine?
Of course not. But we should take greater pains to separate ourselves from our ideas, so a vigorous questioning of the latter doesn't seem like an attack on the former. Because it isn't.
So I applaud Drysart in this though I wish the silver was less purple. And I call upon everyone whose names are purple or gold to accept the challenge of keeping EC the best community on the net.

I still remember the religion argument between Kanid and Sage (least I think it was religion. Started as something else and went that way, I think). Kanid was getting pwned, but he came pretty close to frustrating Sage. I remarked how it was interesting that their arguing styles matched their avatars (Sage has always been the big doggy ever since he stopped using the bomber, and Kanid used to use a wolf), and Kanid proved me right by snapping at me hehehe...
Of course he wasn't REALLY angry, I don't think. But it's one of my earliest memories of Bloodsage. It was one of his early EC flame-conversations.
Man seems like I've known some of you guys forever.
