In other words, if a thread can't actually be locked, why can't the people posting just let it die?

Good bloody question. This is why I wanted to kill this thread. Someone who's up all night America-time anyway should volunteer to be a mod to handle the overnight stuff. This is stupid. I just wanted some help, not people getting snippy, not people trying to be bloody clever, not people starting a flame war. I don't keep Parcelan on ignore because his D&D materials related posts are very useful, and I ignore his posts in other threads, for the most part (I'm sure I haven't at one time or another). He doesn't post on my threads, I don't harass him on his. We had a PM agreement about it.
Now everyone just shut the hell up and go away. All the help in the world isn't worth this sort of hassle. I'll ask elsewhere next time.

Sheesh. She's not some embodiment of Satan. If she's as dead-set on causing trouble as you state, everyone putting her on ignore would just make her get bored and go away.
Myself, I think she has some decent insights. So I don't see any reason why anyone should be so dead-set against her. And yes, she's screamed at me too. The disagreements she had with the way I perform in D&D killed a campaign, essentially.
