The pic of the marine matches up rather well, assuming you include the small marks on the far edges as parts of the whole pic

Now, if I were Blizzard, I would have the picture not as a Terran Protoss OR Zerg unit... nope, it would be one of the reborn Xel'Naga that Duran was creating

Well, least we shall know by the end of today, heh

Me neither.

And is it just me, or is more and more becoming visible as time passes?

Yeah, it is becoming clearer as time passes

Although I doubt that even at zero hour it will be identifiable, just a lot less vague

As the timer counts down, more becomes visible... if that's the case, that'd be cool!

If that is infact a gun and not some part of the background, then it is probabaly a new unit

Marines guns aren't that small, and the ghost canister rifle is even larger than the marine rifle

I always loved games that tried to explore what perfection was.

EnB does this overtly, of course. Progen seek it through the perfect gene-map. Jenquai seek it via unity of mind and body. And the terrans.. well.. They want to make a perfect bank account.

When the Xel`Naga made the zerg, they made a race of perfect form. Efficient, always evolving, always discarding the weak aspects of races they encounter, and taking in the strong bits.
But when the Xel`Naga made the protoss, they tried for perfection of mind instead of body. The psionic link between all protoss was lost, yes, but nothing is gone forever.

If the storyline is as good as it COULD be in SC2, I shall spooge my pants multiple times in the first few minutes.
Hell, I'll probably need a new chair.

My final thoughts on it are that SC2 would pretty much for sure revolve around Duran and his re-made Xel'Naga

Since everyone else got their asses kicked by the end of Brood War to really come back for revenge or anything

Except Duran

He gets away, there is the secret mission dedicated to him, plus he uses a gun too

That mission alone has had me drooling over a possible SC2 for years.

Xel'Naga?!

Someone tell me where I can look up the SC storyline or give me a short summary, I seem to have forgotten most of it.

Thanks.

Duran was the infected Terran Ghost that you meet up with in the begining of the Terran campaign, who eventually betrays and kills Alexei during a critical mission.

And the Xel'Naga was the ancient race that created the Protoss, and through their probing intellect, the Protoss later found out they created the Zerg, if I remember right.

Ah ... slowly I remember, very slowly.

To be honest, all I remember is Kerrigan's statement after smashing the opposition in BW: "I'm now pretty much the queen bitch of the universe."

Kinda cool.

Tassadar, and that was in StarCraft, not Brood War

It could be ol' Jim Reynar, with Fenix(in some nifty new cyborg body) behind him!

That'd be the original, not the expansion.

The overmind died, but the zerg lived on fragmented. It resumed with the Protoss being hunted by the Zerg. The protoss fled, and used a Xel`Naga temple to destroy the pursuing zerg.

That's about how far I got in BW

Samir Duran

AGE: 33
Former Confederate Operative
Special Advisor to the UED

History and Description of Samir Duran
Little is known about the enigmatic man who calls himself Samir Duran. By his own account, Duran served as part of the Confederate Alpha Squadron before the terrorist Arcturus Mengsk brought down the Confederate establishment. Duran now leads a small commando squad that is dedicated to striking at "Emperor" Mengsk and his new Terran Dominion.

Though most of his comrades regard Duran as a sly and cunning leader, few would believe the truth about his mysterious nature...

It seriously looks like a ... a female.. in a slight crouch, bent arm holding what looks like a rifle in one hand and the other hand pointed towards the ground.. possibly a claw? Hard to see with the logos and such in the way.

You can distinctly make out the posture. If I had an art program at work, I would see if I could draw it in a bit more. But you all SHOULD be able to see it.

It's not Duran. Can't be. I don't think it is StarCraft 2, but I bet it's somehow related. They've already said they aren't working on a StarCraft 2 and the way they're hyping this up, I think it's gonna be something completely new in both direction and style.

Notice the decode things are ALL (except for the last ) lines from a ghost

But really people, why WOULDN'T they hype Starcraft 2 up to all hell and back?

If there was EVER a game they could make that should be hyped, it would be Starcraft

I am hoping for SC2, because I have been waiting long enough for it

I largely don't want it to be like a FPS or whatever because that means I would have to wait until the NEXT unannounced project for SC2, lol
