New Particles:Welcome to the first testing of EQ's new, more efficient particle engine. We've put some new effects on a few existing spells for people to look at.
We've implemented a "Near Clip Plane" for the new particle engine. If you're drowning in particles too close to your face, you can make this number larger to cause EQ to "clip out" particles very close to you. This is stored as NewParticleClipPlane in your eqclient.ini. For now, you can change it there.
The particle density for the new particles is controlled by the option "NewParticleDensity" in your eqclient.ini. The range to work with is 0.0 to 1.0.
Unlike the first version of this patch message stated, commands such as /showspelleffects won't effect the new particle system.
New Interface:Deleting Spells from Spellbook: Storebought spells are now deletable from your spellbook. To delete a spell, right click it to highlight it and tap the DELETE key. Please note: This does not convert the spell back into a scroll. You will have to buy a new scroll if you wish to re-scribe the spell.
Item Links: When you inspect an item with Alt-LeftClick, the item inspect window stays up. To paste a "link" to the item you're looking at into your chat bar, click on the item's graphic. That will "speak" a link that others can click on to see the stats of the item, as if they were inspecting it themselves.
Bazaar: We've added a "Focus Effect" parameter to the Bazaar search. You can now search for focus items.
Help Window: This window now displays once on startup for all new characters, and its open/closed state is saved.
Gameplay:Clerics now get the BASH skill at level 25 and it progresses all the way to level 60.
Altered Mage AA Frenzied Burnout to no longer make the pet suicide at the end.
Higher level PCs will be more resistant to lower level NPCs' spells.
Erudites of Prexus now start at the proper location.
Stacking:Warder's Protection should have considerably fewer stacking and overwrite issues. Thanks to the folks at the Ranger's Glade for all of their help in tracking this down. (Ow. No pun intended.)
Druid Damage Shields should now all stack in the correct order.
Druid HP buffs are no longer overwriting stronger cleric HP buffs.
Harness of Spirit and Visions of Grandeur should interact a bit more sanely.
Existing effects should no longer be stripped off when the incoming spell isn't going to take hold.
Boon of Garou and other illusions now interact the right way.
Have a good weekend! The EverQuest Development Team
Let's just hope these new particle effects are nice to look at.

You misread. Now Aego will overwrite your PoTG, not the other way around

No, you just can't overwrite Aego with it. They still don't stack.
Higher level PCs will be more resistant to lower level NPCs' spells.

You can, you know, move unused spells at the end of your spellbook. Just a FYI. Deleting them is stupid.

That's what I have been doing, but there's some that I'll keep as a skill practicing thing, but there's some like the light source summoning spells that I really have never used more than once. That's what I'm talking about.

I'm down to 15 or 20 spell slots before I hit my old, back of the book spells. :/

Spells that have been recycled as part of the ranger and druid epic, for example!
I'd delete the old spells; like levels one and five and stuff, that are redundant... I mean, why do you need a spell, if you're a high level, that directly damages for 5 points of damage? If you don't use it, throw it out!

DD? Pulling later on. Not that you cant rebuy them or anything.
The old old old AEs I could see doing away with though.

That's what MONKS are for!!!
But...don't you wanna use a snare spell or something for pulling? =/
Uhh... I better stop talking. I play a pure melee class, and know ZIPPO about spells!! [ 09-01-2002: Message edited by: Marauder Savannah the Assassin ]

When they give orc shamans Ice Comet perhaps.. But no.. they dont
And stuff like BoF .. well, if yer outside, and yer kiting things, wouldnt it be easier to hit it with a DD, run, find another, hit that with a fast DD (No time! Mobs chase j00!) then once you get four, snare them all at once?
I dunno, Not up to that point with my wizzy yet.

I dunno, either. But if I played a Wizard, I'd snare one, run, snare another, run, snare another, run, snare another, run, and then AE/DD or whatever them all while running them around.
Seems kinda risky to me if you just pull one (or a few) without snaring it first. Might not be able to outrun it or something...
Unless you had like SOW on or something.

Wizards get two snares, IIRC. One at 29, one at 51. Both are AE. It's just easier to harrass the nearest dr00d for a sow and then round the mobs up. Kinda wastes mana to do it one at a time, IMO.
That's just how I do it with Ulthorks, though. There are probably better ways. [ 09-01-2002: Message edited by: Kloie ]

Lets say you're a high level wizzy camping some low level spawn. No, yer gonna use a temperate flux staff that instacasts to pull them

At 41? No way. I did it with my lvl 30 wiz, I never even had anything agro on me. Just jump into the tunnel invis, loot, gate. The staff is godlike for pulling.

That's Staff of the Wheel. Shit, I think I did that one at level 29.
And I'm thinking Acumen mask because I'm a dumb ass.
I haven't put a whole lot of thought into the Staff of Temp Flux yet... [ 09-01-2002: Message edited by: Kloie ]

Right klick FR/CR debuff, instant cast. You need a heart of frost from gobbos in permafrost, a heart of fire from gobbos in sol a (inferno goblin wizards drop them), a rod from stone skeletons in lake rathe and some gem you get by turining in a lambent stone.
