I agree, especially if you grew up with the friday cartoon. Link may not look like he did in the cartoon, but the enemies do, and it LOOKS and moves exactly like a cartoon. Very fluid, very clean.

Dont suppose Nintendo announced the release date for FF:U?
By this I assume you mean Final Fantasy: Universe. The Online game?
If so, as far as I know that is still a PS2 game. An Online FF doesn't really appeal to me anyway.
The whole OnLine Console thing, doesn't really appeal to me, and doesn't make much sense. Unless you have Broadband you're screwed, and especially in the case of the X-Box having a harddrive, abuse and intrusion is too likely.
Fixing a viriied Console, isn't as simple as fixing a viriied Computer...

Yeah, but the majority of what will be done online (if not all) will be client --> Server, which still leaves some room for hacking client ---> client, but very little.
Also, I'm doubting the Xbox harddrive will be very easy to access via its ethernet connection. People will figure it out eventually, but...

Both PS2 and X-Box will be shipping Browser additions within the year. In fact the Hardrive on the X-Box is supposed to complement this, as well as allow downloads of shared save games etc.
And hard as it may be, eventually, it will happen. Not to mention, to me at least, outside of a VERY few games, Online consoles make no sense to me. Besides most people who have access to a broadband connection, and who play games, already have a game computer. Which is essentially better suited to the task.

Better suited for some games, perhaps, but then there are games that will be exclusive to some consoles and some games that just work better on consoles than computers.

Like?

Games that are going to be exclusive to consoles include FFXI. There are a lot that will never make their way to computer.
Games that are better on console is an area that's hard to define since everybody has different tastes, but I feel that racing games work much better on consoles than computers.
and the Link game looks sweet. i'm going to pick it up if the reviews turn out alright.
Oh and Waiszt, last I heard they were releasing the online FF game on both the PS2 and PC. Correct me if I'm outdated.

I recall reading something like that about Phantasy Star Online(I think it was) for the Dreamcast.
Apparently some fucknugget was running around disconnecting everyone and stealing their shit, I think. Going to go try and find the article again.

WTF!?! I thought Square's FF franchise had un-officially became Sony's bitch after Sony helped bail Square out of debt after the crappy movie profits.Oh and Waiszt, last I heard they were releasing the online FF game on both the PS2 and PC. Correct me if I'm outdated.
Sony backstabbed Square a while back with contract issues, on top of being voted the most difficult of the next gen systems to develope for by the programming community. Their term for exclusive rights ran out a while back, and they have chosen to cash in, along the same lines as Sega has done.
All the next Gens except X-Box, this includes GBA, are getting a healthy dose of Square titles with some games being exclusive to each system, but not company exclusive.
They had a whole press realease thing saying a bunch of this same stuff a while back. It's probably floating around somewhere.
By the way, Kigndom Hearts has been knocked off the X-Box roster. There is no upcoming Square titles for the system, as they have pulled support.
FF:XI The Online version will have two forms, PC based and PS2 Based. PC/PS2 owners will being able to play together is the plan, but some features will be exclusive to each format. So in order to experience it all, you need both versions. ( More of that marketing marvel for ya... This method has gotten WAY to popular lately...)
