Though technically so are you, Jan.

And I'm still definitely a mage. Just fits... me, someone who's likely to dream and fantasize and try to tap into that before it was even possible... then screwing up and ending up with a fox-tail and furry ears and such.
Yeah.
*boom*
Indeed

Got my pimped out Fairlight Excalibur deck... got jack shit for combat skills, though.
I always played like that. I jack in, do my l337 thang, while I let the rest of my team deal with any problems in the 'physical' world.

You're right. I dont.
I'd have the balls to fight them, however. Big difference.
Perhaps a Mage or adept. The use of magic has always interested me.

[EDIT] Speaking of Shadowrun, I've never tried it, but I'd be interested in playing, if anyone ever wanted to do a test-adventure or something. Just a note.
You'll have a chance to play a version of Shadowrun 'Lethi. Aleria will be heading in that direction eventually, whatfor and how exactly are not to be disclosed at this point. Although I think, I've talked about it before.
Thats the Outlands: Gen Wars section of the website by the way.
When we get nearer this phenom, I'll probably take Pved and KaL aside.

It wont be Shadowrun, Shadowrun.
It will be a modified Shadowrun. Shadowrun skills, abbilities, extras, premise, powers and cyberware. But it will be a rebuilt system to match the current actionset instead of multi-dice pools. Will still function pretty much the same, but adapted to a semi- d20 atmosphere

The whole concept of deckers doing matrix runs appeals to me in ways I can not describe If AO implimented some type of similar system (Like the Grid, only with cybercombat and such) I would be all over that!
Never played this game before.. but it sounds like fun!
Can I have a ponytail hanging out of my cop-bucket?
I'm waiting in line already for my jack... Second in line currently.. Roommate beat me to the first slot.. Well, someone has to beta test the shit, I'll let him do that...

Lone Star is more like rent-a-cop, and fairly corrupt at that. They're just the closest thing to 'law' that there is
I wish they made a Shadowrun MMORPG... I would eat/sleep/live/breathe it

True. One needs to KNOW about the line, though, to be able to get in it =/

Dunno how many folks you're thinking of populating this place with, but if there's room, I'd love to be a decker, with a top-of-the-line deck (obviously) and a sweet little bike (you've GOTTA have wheels, right?).
me? I'd go with 1 of two characters
corp assassin Vengeance (cyber/bio out the huzzah. and she's hot too)
shamanic wolf adept detective (lonestar denver)
nothing says "oh fuck" better than a cop with clairvoyance, clairaudiance, and the whole line of detect spells

Everyone wondered WTF when The Nae (tm) wrote:
can someone who has played the game before give me a better idea of what type of Lonestar I should be? UBT says they are badguys though.. should I be an adept instead?
Lonestars are only badguys in the sense that they are "The Law" which is contradictory to the premise of Shadowrun which involves typically unlawful behavior. Shadowrunners are typically the less... benign of people who run missions of subtrafuge, sabotage, hacking, or general mayhem for the sake of employment. Hence "They run the shadows". Shadowrunners aren't really good guys (For the most part) nor are Lonestars really badguys (For the most part). The premise just runs with it backwards. Shadworunners are part of the slums, the vandals, the data hackers, the bouncers, the body guards, the sabotuers, and all of them typically fight against "The Man", unless they are actually working for "The Man".
It's all a matter of perception, yes? Like in Star Wars.. the Rebels were good and the Empire was bad.
So if I was an adept.. I would therefore be good in my own eyes.. right?
Shadowrunners are mercenaries. They're not good or bad. But they CAN do good or they CAN do bad. It depends on the 'runs' (Jobs) they sign up for.
You can be a corporate spy, or a bodyguard, or an escort (The protection kind), or a thief, or whatever job is needed. Good or bad.
Lone star is like a combination army/rent-a-cop. They can be corrupt, they can be good, they're the 'law' and the 'law' is made of people, which means there's gonna be good ones and bad ones.
tell me what to do!!!!
