I'd like to see you tank a mob that's doing 1k DPS as a monk. Go ahead. Tank away.
And RPC, to me it looks like reynar implied that mitigation only has to do with level and nothing to do with AC

Nope, only one group there last night. And they weren't on the Gorangas. I'm there now.
I'll probally stop by there sometime this weekend. I really want the Grodan Idol and/or Axe. I need to work on my 2hs though.. it's still in the 140's.

A sleep deprived RPC stammered:
Well, when warriors who have 6 to 8k in HP AND defenesive up can be slaughtered because of *1* heal fizzle, I dont think a 4.5k HP Monk is going to last long enough to get a heal....

I don't know what Reynar ment specifically, but I've watched enough uberguild fights on BB to know the nasty parts about AC caps... It does depend on level, but you can't compare a Warrior (apple) to a Wizard (orange).
Compare 2 level 60 warriors, one in high AC gear and one that just has enough AC to meet or barely exceed the cap. Both of them will get smacked around for the same amount, despite there being a 100, 200 or 500 point AC diff.

The Black Mage... impressed everyone with:
Not against 3k dps mobs, no.
Not against a 1k DPS mob unless you have an assload of clerics in your heal chain. If you use a warrior (or in some cases a Paladin) you can get away with fewer clerics in the heal chain, which means if you have extras they can nuke.

Somebody gave me a Goranga Idol. Ooooh special...

Bah... Check out the No Drop Grodan idol. 15 AC, 12 Str, some stam, some resists and RANGE SLOT.

...*makes plans to stick around ME a bit longer*...
I imagine that I'll be sitting on my ass a couple of days to get one...
But sometimes an unwanted Axegoeth's Belt of Defense drops when people are hunting the Xin Thall Centians.
I'd take the belt, but I can't use it till I get a cloak haste item or something else.
And I'd have to give up my primatve leather (AC 12, 8 Str, 8 Stam) for it... I know the other belt has like 15 Str, but no stam...
Just slaughter rhinobeetles in Hollowshade Moor until Gorehorn shows up. It's his common drop. He's about as strong as an old world giant.

3 stam just doesn't mean that much when you're losing 8..
And at least try to get a BA Coif if you don't get the SSB.
I str cap when buffed though. I don't need more Str unless I'm gonna try to be a full str warrior. Personally, I'd rather be a Full Stam warrior over a Full Str warrior. HoS/Focus doesn't give stam...

The Black Mage... had this to say about the Spice Girls:
High-end Monks tank better than High-End Warriors.
I hope your kidding.
Being 'High End' as you say, I have NEVER seen a monk tank a mob, its just not going to happen. Every raid my guild does MUST have a 60 warrior tanking. Mobs like vindi/KT/Dain ect. require a 60 warrior with 1200+ AC and /disc defensive. If you dont have a warrior, You don't have a raid.
Monks have HP sure, but they don't have AC or /disc defensive. Therefore, they make crappy tanks.
Also, Do not worry that much about your warrior doing damage. A warriors job is to get hit and get hit alot. AC(until 1200)>HP>Damage. Get proccing weaps to gain aggro if needed; just dont worry about 'not doing enough damage'.
