Iced Earth is good if yer a bit more angry, really great lyrics set to really great but dark an angry music.
Yngwie Malmsteen, goes by title: Reigning God of Guitars.
Just about anything off the Cowboy Bebop soundtracks, especially: Adieu, Blue, Rain, Flying Teapot, Tank, The Real Folk Blues
some others ones are kinna cutsey, but in a good way *grin*
Demonds and Wizards is also really good, its half Blind Guardian, and half Iced Earth, just supurb
a swedish band, In Flames, is as far as I can tell, the ultimate in anger music, these guys must be pissed, fo sho
more mainstream bands you should check if you haven't: Tool, System of a Down, Led Zepplin
ok, end of all that, but really, get Dream Theater, they rock on all levels conceivable
Placebo - I had a bit of a phase on them when i was about 13 or so, but "Black Market Music" was crap, look for the first two albums.
Manic Street Preachers - YAES! haha another one of my phases. I love their early stuff, it kicks ass.
The Tea Party - Pvednes has gotten me into them and i don't know that much, but i like what i've heard.
The Hives - *ducks the barrage of rotting vegetables* Yeah i like them, and the Strokes, similar music, except the hives are better live 
[Spunge] - Yes, with brackets. Theyre a fun ska punk band, look for the album "Pedigree Chump"
