Wow, I stop checking the threads for a day, and I find out that GKT has made a thread four pages long! I need to stop by here more often.

Does anyone else see the irony that my last post made the thread five pages long?

Parce, I'm not saying what GKT has done here is right or wrong, I didn't read the whole thread because I got bored after the part where everyone gave her the proper advice and she chose to ignore it.

But EVERYONE attempts to gain attention, just in different ways. Some people do the whole "Woe is me" others attack everyone on the slightest hint of insult or arguement, unable to keep their balls in their pants so to speak. Others do the "No one likes me, I'm leaving or killing myself"

It isn't exclusive to GKT, and this board is full of attention whores. Seems to me GKT's method just seems to annoy you more than everone else's. Maybe you should ignore every post by her, eh?

True dat, Kanid.

But if it not only annoys me, but many others, it seems to me that the majority shouldn't change to suit the individual.

No change required mein freund, just skip over the posts she makes. Sometimes two people just aren't agreeable with one another. Easier to avoid conflict than to try to change either person.

Because there's a difference between annoying people and intending to offend people or upset them on purpose.

She's gaining attention in the way she knows how, while the other is being an ass for the sake of being an ass (like Paul/Kameks)

Then she had better learn a new way to get attention.

Because starting fires "because it's the only way I can get attention" is not a valid excuse.

Don't justify her bullshit by excusing it. Even if she didn't know before, enough people told her what to do in the first few pages for "I didn't know another way" to lose any credibility.

And this bullshit about claiming not to want attention, while at the same time rezzing the thread just to start an argument doesn't pass the feeblest sanity check.

Excusing such behavior only encourages it.

She can either change the way she approaches things, or go away and suck up the consequences of her choice of behaviors. Remember: this isn't the first time she's pulled this.

I was going to take my own advice, but I think this needs RE-iteration.

I said, started, prefaced even, the whole thing I said by "I'm not saying what GKT has done here is right or wrong."

I'm not excusing her behavior, and personally it bothered me enough to avoid the thread for the most part. My advice was for Parcelan, to avoid her, for his and everyone else's sake.

If a cactus pricks you, avoid the cactus. If it pricks enough people, it will get removed. Continuing to kick the cactus after it pricked you only allows it more opportunity to prick you, and just walking away seems to be the better recourse.

That's my point. I hope it was simple enough not to be misconstrued again.

I just don't subscribe to the philosophy that other people should address my problems.

If a cactus sticks me, and it's not through my own clumsiness, I'll take steps to see that it's removed, rather than adjusting my life around my fear of being stuck again, or the vain hope that someone else will fix my problem for me.

Same thing for people. If I have a problem with someone, they'll know it. Usually immediately.

I neither understand nor respect passive-aggressive back-stabbing, or its whiney cousin conflict-avoidance through giving in.

Not sure I understand what you mean 'Sage.

Are you're saying you'll keep kicking the cactus, knowing the cactus will only keep pricking you?

Or do you think your kicking will cause the cactus to change?

Or will you get the cactus removed instead of simply walking around it?

Just when it dies down.. Kanid comes in and starts a whole new argument.

You smell that? Do you smell that? ...Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory.

Nah, not arguing. I was first trying to suggest Parcelan stop trying to hold it against a cactus for being a cactus and just walk around it. Then BS said it was more important for him to have the cactus removed than simply avoiding it.

It's done.

If you have a cactus in front of your house, and people keep tripping over it, of course you're going to take steps to have it removed.

I don't see why we, as the people who are tired of GKT's shit, should have to tolerate it and avoid it.

If you prick on it once, then it's okay. Many people have made irritating threads, and it's been okay. But if it pricks you more than once, like GKT, on a continual basis, why bother with it?
