I read your post in its entirety. Your wording was ambiguous, however, so I chose to taunt you for it.

Neener yourself.

I know, but its not often I choose to mince words with you, so I figured going at it with the funny angle was the best way.

Actually, that just reinforced my belief that they married each other, if you consider their spouses to be your brother and sister!

You smell that? Do you smell that? ...Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory.

Bloodsage had this to say about Duck Tales:
It was a Dining Out--the Marine Birthday Ball, if I'm not mistaken.

We hardly ever do Dinings In any more, due to political correctness and social actions bullshit.

Some of the traditions are migrating over to the Dining Out . . . but that's just awkward with wives and dates in the room.

I think those days are gone, sadly.

Damn the touchy-feely feel good military. I remember the bad ole days, pre-Reagan. I remember strippers in the NCO club on Fridays. Grab a pitcher of green Schlitz and cram yourself into this tiny room under the stairs to watch the show. Interservice Fight Night was fun too. I think back on some of the really stupid shit I did back when I was a one or two striper and cringe.

Never did any Dining Ins or Outs. Mostly the odd PME graduation dinner. Fine dining and fancy table manners really isn't my thang. I'm more likely to safety rope myself to the bar and leave it at that.

Is the Air Force still in love with the whole TQM concept? They should have never gotten rid of the old IG inspections. We got our first QAFA and to this day, I still don't know if we passed or not.

Thank God, TQM is dead.

Unfortunately, it left a sort of vacuum in its wake.

That's the one drawback of the Air Force: we tend to reinvent ourselves every few years. It keeps us from becoming mired in traditon and risking irrelevance, like the other services, but it's awfully damn frustrating.

Heh, I remember a few interesting Dinings In, but since I'm still active, I'll plead the 5th on specifics . . .
