I don't like Cid from VIII and IX as much

I like the grouchy Cid that kicked ass at making airships like IV and VII

Oh so many contenders.

Darth Vader? nah, doesn't really count, came from movies. Same with Thrawn (only books).

Rose? Hrm, Maybe. Definately a cool character.

Auron? Definately very cool. Though this could be the newness of it right now.

Auron just isnt cause of the newness factor, at least to me, im only a little ways into the game, an the coolest scene to me is the movie of hime walking into te luca stadium as its getting attacked, the move rocked. that and the one as sins attacking zanakand

Samus Aran was the coolest.

Sephiroth, Citan Uzuki, Vincent, and the sprite from Secret of Mana are all runners up.

Cid in 7 wasn't a grouch. He was a genius (designed the Highwind that was named after him, the Tiny Bronco, and the Shinra rocket that managed to go up into space years after its initial misfiring) who got a raw deal. He was still the man though. Better than the Cid in 8 by far.
