Any social group has its freaks. Furry, being more visible on the social radar anyway, attracts more attention for its weirdos. Don't believe my statement that every social group has its freaks?
Is it taboo to play an elf? Is it more taboo to play it for sex values? Is it taboo to have sex at all? or do more people pay attention to you if you're into the kinky stuff?
Yeesh. For the most part, the vast majority, the furres around here act okay. If you don't like the notion of someone presenting themselves exactly as they are...if that's your hangup...then let me remind you that you, the person at the keyboard, are human. You've always been human, you always will be human. You're not some big hulking strong barbarian, or a ranger, or a long-lived elf. You're not a dragon or a monkey. You're a human. And chances are you're not near as interesting/exotic/attractive as you think your avatar is. Because that's why we use avatar forms on boards, folks. They represent personalized self images that reflect things we like and wish we were. Fantasies are harmless until you force them on someone else. I don't see (and haven't seen) any of the furry characters around here forcing you to cyber them. I haven't seen any of them being any more lewd than I've seen quite a few of you non-furries being.
And if your hangup lies in the fact that they have sex in a roleplayed character form...then who's the more dysfunctional person here? Is it the people who harmlessly get out their kinks, or is it the people who scream and freak out over it?
Some of you, I might point out, have girlfriends, boyfriends, fiancee's, or spouses. Why do you concern yourselves with the possible sexual practices of other people when they don't infringe upon yours? Concern yourself with your own situation before casting a declaratory finger at someone else. There are rules in place, furres don't break the rules, you clearly don't want to understand things, so don't be assholes and pick fights. One never knows when one's own social group may come under fire at some point.
