64mb Geforce2 GTS card.
What OS should I use to get the best efficiency for my games?
I'm using 98SE right now, but the memory buffers for 9X don't work real well beyond 256, so my games have bad video lag.
Any suggestions?
As opposed to WinME and particulary 2k, I got an extra 20 FPS or so out of my games with XP.
I actually had to turn down the mouse sensitivity in a lot of them. [ 11-17-2001: Message edited by: Koska Kintaro ]

I just upgraded from a VooDoo 3 (something or other) to a Radoen Radeon 7500, and a bit more memory. I've got my desktop the right size, and my monitor set up (plug-n-play, 19" Futura). However, when I run EQ, the login and server select screens are too big to fit onto my screen. The bottom and sides are cut off. Regualar EQ runs just fine, just those few screens.
When I tried Diablo2, it did the same thing with the Blizzard logo screens, but the game itself is A-OK. What am I missing that I need to fix? If I don't figure this out soon, I won't be able to access the "Enable Expansion" button when SoL comes out. 
Given that SoL is the entire reason I upgraded, I'm starting to get kind of worried.

I just discovered that if I switch to the lower res on D2X, the screen pulls that "doesn't fit" shit again.
I can't find anything at this company's web site about this, and I get the feeling that it's something set wrong with my computer. I just need to know what...

Uhh No offence but why did you upgrade to that video card instead og a GeForce2 or 3. Radeon are way behind the GeForce cards.

I'm still wondering if I wanna bother building a whole new system or just making due with my current one (I just wanted a new one to play DAoC, but EQ is looking reeeeeeally good again).
I thought about getting a new processer, but given the obscene price of Pentiums I'm better off buying an Athlon and a new mobo.

If you have a Lucent win modem, it WILL NOT WORK with XP. this is a known problem, there is NO fix ((ask me, 9 calls to tech support later, the problem was solved by running to staples, and getting a new modem. 
))
