I'm currently running a final test import of all the thread data, once that's done and I've looked it over and it looks good, I'll be taking the main boards down to do the final data import. After the import is done, the boards will come back up with the new back end system.
This means that the boards will go down for about half an hour at approximately 10:00 PM PST.
No posts will be lost in the switchover, unless something seriously malfunctions with the new code, in which case any posts made after the switchover will be lost if I have to fall back to the current code. [ 11-16-2001: Message edited by: Drysart ]
I'd say around 20%. Which would then require an emergency twelve hour patch, which "accidently" bans everyone and formats the boards.
Oh, wait, that was SND.
Good luck, Drys.

BUG 1:
Sometimes, when I edit my posts, the post just won't edit, it'll stay the same as always. (I.E: If I have "Blah blah blah" and then try and change it to "Yada yada yada," I'll still see "Blah blah blah.")
BUG 2:
Some of the normal threads got past this thread, even though it's stickied.
I don't know yet if this is only on multi-page posts or not.
It says there are no new messages (As the light says) even though when I click on the main page and all the folders are red.

Methinks this sticky thread isn't sticky anymore. Let's find out. BUMP!
nope, not sticky anymore
I'm having a lot of trouble logging in. I try to log in once, and it just gives me the blank fields again after I hit Login. I do it again, and I get the fields again, then the third time it words, taking me back to the first forum screen with just the EverCrest Forums option.

What did you expect it to do?
I expected it to do nothing. I hit it without thinking, and then had to figure out what had happened. I don't know if it used to do that or not.
I guess it makes sense, now that I'm thinking about it. It just caught me by suprise at the time.
I'm not sure if this has always been a bug....

Where's the fun in that?
The most recent post is the SQL changeover post, and I know i've posted since then. Same for yours, Drysart.
I use this feature a lot, to see where people have posted, since I don't have time to read through every thread.
and its not because i havent refreshed the page
I only know what the PM was because I received it in perfect condition via email.

quote:As a glutton for punishment, I decided to try this out for myself. It took me 12 tries before the log-in stuck, with varying degrees of success along the way. (It would kick me back to the login screen some times, others it would say I couldn't log in, others it would say I logged in successfully but wouldn't let me see the forums, etc.) I finally figured it out, sort of. When I log in as my login name (my original screen name), it says I'm logged in, but I'm really not. When I log in as my displayed name (Ford Prefect), it says it has no registered user by that name, then logs me in, but bumps me back to the login screen because it thinks I haven't logged in.

I don't know if this is the problem for Lyinar or just me, but it may help trace the source of the login difficulties.
