myself, just laying in bed for an hour before the sun has come up, hearing rain pattering on my window and having a permeating sense of warmth radiating out from within me to keep to chill morning air at bay.

You just reminded me what that felt like, and I'd have to agree

What is it about thunderstorms? Cuddling in the dark, the smell of rain on the grass, the sound of the torent as it plays upon your roof...
For me, personally, I think it's something about the sheer power of nature that's displayed during a thunderstorm. It's awesome and awe inspiring and very stirring. With a really big thunderstorm, especially when I stand out on a covered porch or something, I literally feel my stomach get butterflies and my heart race. Just watching what nature is able to do I find incredible.
Have you ever made love to someone out in a field during a thunderstorm? Amazing experience, especially when the thunder is loud enough to shake the ground beneath you. And even when snuggling safely inside, it rarely stays snuggling for long.
EDIT: Hmm, I wonder if this is part of why I enjoy playing druids so much. [ 09-21-2001: Message edited by: Katjya ]
Lighting up a big cigar.
Wandering into a dorm room party and having a blast with people I do not know.
Someone asking to sit with me on the bus, and holding a conversation all the way to my stop.
Going to my mother's house and seeing my cat jump through all the furniture to get over and rub my leg.
Power outages, with a lot of people, candles.. and having to clear the fridge out of icecream because you don't know when the power will be back on.
Putting on clothes warm out of the dryer.
Hearing a song for the first time, and "feeling" it.
Road trips.
Gourmet coffee.
Realising a girl has been looking my way..
Making people laugh.
Talking with someone and losing track of time.
"What was I talking about again?"
"Before you respond with some ignorant drivel, please stop yourself."
Standing on the Roof of a tall building during a storm of any kind
Going for a walk during a fierce thunderstorm (alone or with a girl, the latter sadly beeing the exception)
add to that:
Hugs from someone I love.. which leads to more fun
Sitting in front of an open fire and sipping hot cocoa in winter
Talking with friends and enjoying their companionship
and everything else everyone has mentioned so far
for Mort its one sauteed in a very light garlic sauce..
