If so, check out this site:

See how far you can get through their challenges. I made it past level 8, which is currently the last challenge.

Wow. I am not a 1337 hax0r!
But I bypassed the no right/middle click on level 2.. Couldn't find the password or anything in the source code tho.

Would have made it past level 2 by downloading and loading the Flash movie, but I have no patience with those

Two methods I know of.
Right click, and hit source.
Go to view, click source..

At least I think that's what you mean.

Yay, I beat level 1! I'm actually suprised I could even do that, as I have absolutely *no* knoledge of how a computer works under the OS. Scarily enough, I'm still one of the better computer users at the school, and anwer people's questions.

Sudent: "Hey, my report isn't printing!"

Me: "The screen says it can't detect the printer. Did you check the cable between the printer and computer?"

Student:"Umm, one sec, it's a little loose ... Hey, now it's working, thanks!"

That's the extent of my problem solving abilities.

Level two is simply a Flash movie. Go into your Temporary Internet Files, search for the movie (FlashLevel2.swf), copy it to a new location, and open it with Notepad

Thats a VB3 file.. Im pretty sure what you see in the .vb3 file in notepad will be of no help at all to you.

My theory would be to open the file in Visual Basic, but as I don't have a copy of Visual Basic, I can't confirm it.

I'd better not need some 3rd party software. That's lame.

The Flash Client for Test 2 is third party software (Just a bit more common. Mostly programmers have Visual Basic installed.. Or maybe 1337 hax0rs)

Okay, so I view hte source, I download the real javascript, I seek out and view flash movies. I'm a little reluctant to whip out the intel 486 reference manual and decompile the whole VB file. Some things to note: txtPassword=Zrq... doesn't mean that that is a statement in the VB that generated it. That whole thing (the variable name, the equals, and the gibberish), is a string embedded in the file. VB files are exectables, not like javascript or anything. The bit that looks repetetive with like, 1/4, u, >>, a square, wl+ and so on, when disassembled, looks like a loop comparing strings. Or at least, something that could be a loop comparing strings. If you look at that section, you see two things:

1. it bails out right away if it isn't the right username, with a different message than missing the password
2. it looks like it does more on the password than on the username.

There has to be a solution somewhere. I don't have anything that will allow me to watch it while it's running, but anyway, I don't think it is supposed to be that hard. Notice that login-level6.html is a "not that easy" taunt.

Frustrated. Any hints on 5?

Is the point of #5 to see if you can find a free VB decompiler for win2k? :P
