I had what felt like a horrible pulled calf muscle, waited 6 days wondering what it was, and finally saw someone when it started swelling. Turned out to be deep vein thrombosis, and I had two large pulmonary embolisms to show for it.
Spent the past week in the hospital hooked up to oxygen and IVs. Luckily--pure luck--there was no apparent damage to my heart or lungs.
So, yeah. See the doc if something hurts without explanation.

Glad you're okay, hoss. I had a swollen toe for a week, doctor still isn't sure. It's getting better and I've been referred to a specialist. Personally thinking it's psoriatic arthritis.

That's the weird thing--apparently you feel fine right up until you keel over dead. I didn't feel bad at all, so it was a little hard to take seriously all the doctors rushing around with grim faces.
