Sure, why not?

Wasn't the original comic like, ultra gritty?

Yup, the original Mirage Studios comic was intended as a noir parody of a handful of existing comics. The turtles engaged in a great deal of overt violence. The transition to kid's show defined "selling out" for a generation of indie comic fans.

It would be kinda neat to see an original Eastman & Laird style adult series reboot. I get the impression that this is just a one-off youtube teaser though.

anyone ever see the episode of turtles fast forward where they're hopping alternate dimensions and they come across the original TMNT world? I loved that the B&W turtles basically call them pussies.

Dark and gritty, eh?

My world was turned upside-down when the comics started getting dark again in the early to mid 90's.

Raph lost an eye to a missile attack, and some other characters were killed off.
