So I got bored with my regular playlists while I'm working on a briefing for tomorrow, and decided to try out the spiffy iTunes DJ function. WTFuxx0r?

Here's what it gave me:

1. Weird Al, "My Baby's In Love With Eddie Vedder"
2. Enigma, "Second Chapter"
3. Sheb Wooley, "The Purple People Eater"
4. Black Eyed Peas, "Don't Phunk With My Heart"
5. Black Eyed Peas, "My Humps"
6. Blessid Union of Souls, "Hey Leonardo (Live)"
7. Smashing Pumpkins, "Tear"
8. Eros Ramazzotti, "Luomo Che Guadava Le Nuvole"
9. Tenacious D, "Double Team"
10.Refused, "Protest Song '68"
11.Feist, "My Moon My Man"
12.Tenacious D, "Fuck Her Gently"
13.P.M. Dawn, "X Files Theme (Remi)"
14. Lynyrd Skynyrd, "What's Your Name?"
15.Superbus, "Monday To Sunday (BOF RRRRRRR !!!)"

I thought it was supposed to be a smart playlist...or is this just hilarious operator error? I can't find any settings other than to tell it to play higher-rated songs more often.

Considering it's Apple we're talking about, they're probably telling you what you should like and simply assuming you'll agree because you're a zombie.

A Smart playlist is when you specify the conditions for a playlist - I have one for example that plays songs that were 1. Added in the last six months and 2. Haven't been played in two days.

I've never used the iTunes DJ. but I have been known to let it choose a genius playlist from time to time.

I think I hate Fergie from blackeyed peas more than any human being presently alive.

I was told that the Blackeyed Peas were the future of music. True story.

I don't hate blackeyed peas really. I only hate their songs to the extent that fergie is invovled with them.

Fortunately, this often amounts to little more than her barking out "DRANK" or something incredibly stupid now and again
