How do you decorate your home or apartment? I'm redoing my entire house and what other 'cresters places looked like.

The idea I'm having right now is to decorate my kitchen with a nature theme - pictures of animals and scenery, including framed photos from Death Valley and the like. I got a few framed photos of local animals from the farmers market as well. I'm going to get some new plants to go with the theme.

I'm going to decorate my living room with a more old man look and maybe some wall art like this.

My artsy friends will help me before I do anything tacky. I'll post when it's done.

What does your room/apartment look like? Please include photos.

My style is something that is best summed up as... mishmash. Most of my furniture is second hand and will remain so until the kids are older, I think. I really want to paint my walls and just havent gotten around to doing it yet.

My kitchen theme is vaguely done in vegetables, until I got tired of the stuff and packed it all away. Now its monkeys.

Bedroom:

Dark oak nightstand and dresser
Plastic folding table
Box spring/mattress straight on the floor.

My decorating style is:

Penniless with a smattering of Goodwill.

This, basically?

My stuff is mostly hand-me-downs from family.

Handmedowns, gifts, and Ikea. Depending upon the size of our tax return, we might be getting a new bedroom set this year, which'll be the first "real" furniture we've bought in years.

As for putting shit on the walls, it's almost entirely paintings and photographs done by our friends/family.

I don't even have furniture. Computer desk and a bed.

Couch set will be the next big purchase but not for quite awhile.

My apartment is completely stocked with hand-me-downs. The previous tenant actually left me two pretty nice tables. One is currently functioning as an entertainment center/desk in the living room, and one is in the kitchen as a dining table. Then I have an easy-chair that my grandfather gifted me, and an old love seat that my mom never used. The list goes on and on, just about the only thing new that I have in this apartment is a book case I just got for Christmas.

I do as well as I can with what I have. I suppose there's kind of a green-brown-blue theme going on, but that's not really intentional, it's just ended up that way. With a few plants here and there that theme can actually look pretty good, you're just going to feel like a hippy all the time.

We're decorated in what can most charitably be called an eclectic style. Meaning that our house is filled with stuff I've picked up all over the world because it seemed like a good idea at the time.

If I remember, I'll take a few photos tomorrow.
