Black Friday is a special time of year for deals. Some stores give their best prices of the year, and others hope people will be so caught up in the moment they won't price check.

I was originally going to start flooding the Deal of the Moment thread but the truth is I wouldn't be able to keep up.

I decided to try something different with this thread. Instead of posting deals, everyone should post requests. If someone sees a deal for that request, we can respond.

What did everyone end up getting?

What I got...

Video Games:
Overlord 2 for the 360 ($10)
Civ 4 Complete for the PC ($10)

Board Games:
Race for the Galaxy - Rating 7.97 Playtime 45 Minutes 2-4 Players
This is Puerto Rico in space. The play is very similar to Puerto Rico except people choose their roles at the same time (instead of exclusive roles). It won a crapton of awards.

Power Grid - Rating 8.19. Playtime 120 minutes. 2-6 Players.
I can't describe the game without it sounding boring. When I heard about it, it sounded lame. When I played it it was pretty damn fun. It won game of the year in many rating sites since its release.

Agricola - Rating 8.31 Playtime 2 Hours 1-5 Players
You and your wife/husband start with a shack and little else. You need to expand your family, farm, get ready for the harvest, and the like. Also won a crapload of awards.

Pandemic and On the Brink expansion Rating 7.76/8.31 Playtime 45 Minutes 2-4 Players

You are specialists at the CDC/Atlanta where you watch several virulent diseases break out simultaneously all over the world. The team mission is to prevent a world-wide pandemic outbreak, treating hotspots while researching cures for each of the four plagues before they get out of hand.

The board shows earth with some big population centres. On each turn a player can use four actions to travel, cure, discover and build. Cards are used for this but the deck also contains Epidemics...

It won a lot of awards.

Battlestar Galatica Rating 7.90 Playtime Playtime 2-3 Hours 3-6 Players
I got this one because it was different than the others. This plot is very similar to the TV series. The players have characters with their own strengths and weaknesses and need to work together to survive. There's just one catch - some people are randomly chosen to be saboteurs and are actually actively trying to make the other players lose the game.

Through the Ages: A Story of Civilization Rating 8.30 Playtime 4 Hours 2-4 Players
Imagine playing the videogame civilization with 4 players. This was called "mini-civ" because it's simpler and a bit more sane. This only won one award but it's very new.

Puerto Rico the Board Game Rating 8.31 Playtime 90 Minutes 3-5 Players
It's a classic I didn't have that's one of Tanga's black Friday specials. It's a staple game like Catan, Fluxx, and Monoply but for geeks.

Prince of Chaos Rating Rating 7.76?? Playtime 2 Hours 2-4 Players
This a very new game that I got very cheep. There were only 32 reviews and there are no awards, so it's not in the same league as the others. However, they described it as a tactical space shooter that focuses on fun above realism. There aren't any die rolls in combat. It's worth a look and if it sucks it was cheap anyhow.

Dominion & Intrigue Rating 8.05/8.31 Playtime 30 Minutes 2-4 Players
Your father tells you your kingdom is too small. Build one worth of your own name. Too bad everyone else's daddy says the same thing. Plays like a CCG, but is a complete package.

Hypoallergenic
3x Silvered Filter for the Alen A375UV ($66 each after discount)
Honyewell Air Purifier Model 50250-N $144

Cookware
The biggest item I wanted, believe it or not, was a blender discounted from $40ish to $13. It sold out before I could buy it.
My folks are just giving me my grandmothers old cookware to save some cash.

Kidle
Free for the PC version. Tons of free books. Paid $1 for all of Mark Twain's books (yeah I know it's public domain but it's a buck). Paid $0.75 for an Asimov short story.
Blew too much of my BF budget on hypoallergenic stuff to get the kindle itself.

Misc
Friction holder form my Garmin.

Absolutely nothing! I was in Atlanta for Black Friday and it wasn't even close to worth trying to brave that horrible place to save a few dollars

Hahaha, shopping in Atlanta on Black Friday is asking to be stabbed. I still have nightmares around the holiday seasons about my stint at a Target in THE A.T.L.

I had a bunch of Men's Warehouse giftcards sitting around and finally spent them, since you can spread so little so far. Got a hoodie/jacket and a pair of ties.
