I don't really see the problem here.

Obsidian has Chris Avellone (Planescape, Fallout 2) who is a brilliant writer and responsible for the Fallout Bible, Feargus Urquhart (Planescape, Fallout 2) who was the lead director on Fallout 2 and Josh Sawyer (Van Buren).

Yes, in 1997 I was playing TF/Custom ("Shaka") TF, Quake 2, etc. Nearly the height of gaming without faggy isometric graphics and board-game-like gameplay.
