I just got done watching the series premiere. It was a cool little show. You can definately see the influence of Kurt Sutter, who wrote and produced 20 odd episodes of the Shield and is the Exectutive Producer and Writer for this show. The black gang that the Sons of Anarchy were selling guns to were even no other than the One-Niners(Ron Pearlman's character refers to them by that name twice). Coupled with Jay Karnes(Dutch) playing an ATF detective had me expecting Vic Mackey to show up at any moment to break up some SoA illegal activity.

I don't watch television.

But I'll grab it off a torrent on your recommendation.

It has Ron Pearlman as the second leading character and was created by the Shield team. How the hell did you not watch it. YOU HAVE FAILED ME.

I lol'd when I saw Dutch(not his name obviously) in the preview for the next episode as an ATF Detective.

The only thing I watch on TV is the First 48. And now the Shield since it's back. And Sons of Anarchy if I remember next week.

I've got a lot of stuff on my plate ever since I started picking up Homicide and The Wire.

The Shield is still the only thing I'm watching that is still in production though.

It was pretty good, but I don't know what chance it stands of survival on broadcast TV.

Probably around 20% -- just like the kid.

I spent the first twenty minutes or so playing a fun fun game of, "Who's that obscure guy!"

Off the top of my head: Ron Pearlman(obviously, not too obscure), Peggy Bundy(took me a while to recognize her, she got old), Navaro Quintero, Detective Flass(Gordon's partner in Batman Begins), and the Irish assassin dude from Sin City/Cicero from Gladiator.

I saw some adverts for that show while I was watching Burn Notice on hulu.com. It looked pretty interesting, and hey, Ron Pearlman.

Burn Notice is a pretty good show. It's about the only thing I've been watching lately. A bit campy at times (features ex-spies running around Miami), but when you've got Bruce Campbell on cast, campy is to be expected.

Like midgets, any movie could be made better by the addition of Ron Pearlman.
