Try as they might, they couldn't find a good excuse to red-line me, so I officially became a Colonel today.

Go me.

"Them" is now officially me.

Congrats!

Now you and Vernal need to get back to Vegas for a vacation or something. I want to be able to tell people I bought drinks for a full bird colonel.

That's a darned good question! When it becomes less boiling hot, Vernal and I plan to hop on the motorcycle and be-bop up your direction. It's been tough finding real time off since about Christmas.

Heck, I still have to find time to get back to Vegas so Cal can buy me that beer!

I thought youse was in Joisey?

There's actually some potential I'll end up going to New Jersey in the coming months, but I can't think of a good excuse to visit New York.

Yup, still in Jersey, but I'm 45 minutes away from Manhattan, and I like to name-drop.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the O6 pay grade. That's a lot of cabbage. Means tons of beer and tech toys for ya.

But seriously, grats on the position, man. My grandpa only ever made it up to O4 in the Naxy, but man, does he have some stories. You'll probably have fun stories to tell someday too.

Now I know two Colonels. One is an Army doctor (no he's nothing like Col. Potter) but he did run an army hospital for one of his three tours in Iraq. His name comes up again soon for another tour I think.
