Well, it worked for Blair Witch.

Think I am looking forward to this one.

<Mortious> JJ has already said it's not godzilla, it's an original creation.
<Mortious> He wants it to be "America's Godzilla", like how popular Godzilla is in Japan.
<TR> I bet it's dinosaur looking though, Mort
<Mortious> I really would laugh if it has any similarity to a macro fur
<Mortious> Well he tried to hit on the statue of liberty, but she's the strong silent type, so he got angry
<TR> and humped her head off
<Mortious> So.. in the trailer.. the loud monster-groan and the following explosion.. oh god.
<Mortious> No wonder they ran for cover.

This a link to a fictional company and their refreshment that's supposed to be featured in the movie. The history section is quite interesting. Also the message your get from the last button sounds quite ominous.

According to the fora at JJAbrams.net, that picture is definitely *not* the monster. It is something a forum member did there as a contest entry.

Edit: So I've heard at least. Not visiting those fora.

Of course this isn't a Cthulhu movie, though I wish to fuck it was. If it was, everyone in the trailer would have gone completely insane. Isn't the sight of Cthulhu alone enough to drive most humans crazy?

That drawn image of the monster is pretty cool, though. I wouldn't mind if that was indeed the monster.

No but fortunately no one ever actually sees the monster because they're too busy swinging their cameras around wildly anyway

Here's a closer/slower look at the monster. Kinda Cthulhuesque, but I'm quite sane still.

Some 5 minute clip from near the beginning of the movie. I have to admit, I'm a bit more interested in seeing this now. The "home-video" cam doesn't seem too over the top.
