But is it actually a working controller?

That is the question.

Also, when you see snotty little kids rolling around on these skate shoes with blank looks on their faces, am I the only one who gets an overpowering urge to shove them over?

I'd happily knock each and every one of those little bastards to the ground, were there no consequences for my action.

Because the little shits wearing them constantly are rolling into people/rolling in peoples ways/being rude. At least, that is my experience.

I have never once seen a kid get in a person's way while wearing those. Maybe Chattanooga kids are just less likely to be jerks? I don't know

Just the fact that they're roller skating around a place of business isn't reason enough?

They bump into people, they knock shit over, they trip, they disrupt walking traffic, and for what? How much fun could rolling ten feet really be? They do it because it's trendy and nonconformist and they're little faggots who eat shit like that up then go home and watch Invader Zim and go "LOL THAT WAS RANDOM"

I'd rather bop the parents who think it's a good idea to buy their kids let their kids wear those shoes in the first place

At least our local grocery store has a big sign at the entrance forbiding the use of wheelies in that store

Watched One of these kids do that by takeing a half gainer into a shelf of olive oil, took the whole shelf out. If I was the store owner, I would've given a bill for the oil to the parents, Might have motivated them to bring there brat under control a bit.

The girls think they are fun, Hellies that is. Hell I'd have loved those when I was a kid. And Maradon can spout all he wants. He knows he'd have loved them too, most everyone here would have. (We are talking under 13-14 or so though yeah.) Non-conformist, what? What kid DIDN'T love Rollerblading/Skating as a kid?

Now granted, they only get to cruise around out of doors in them. No skating around inside the stores and whatnot. The girls are forced to follow the same rules they do when they use thier inlines (Or in Cyn's case, regular roller skates.) and the same concideration. In that case they are absolutely no different than letting your kid have some rollerblades/skates. So I don't understand what the big issue is. They shouldn't be allowed indoors, and that's about it. Otherwise there is no real significant difference.

Even then. This whole running into people tripping over things and what-not.. I'd have to agree with Alaan/Kegwen on that one. What kinda heely gangs do you have running around your nieghborhood? o_O For one it is pretty hard to actually get out of control, or lose control on heelies. You can't go fast enough on them (You can't really do more than cruise) to lose control, and even if you did the wheels only extend a little more than an inch below the heel, only, of the shoes; And you can easily plant your foot down. You can't really swivel side to side as the sole of the shoe gets in the way. I have never seen any of this hell on wheels phenom decribed here.

Edit: In fact, just a question... How many of you, as kids, got the shopping cart while you were at the store with your parents, ran a few steps, and then hopped up on the back of the cart to cruise a few feet. AND can tell me, to you as a kid, you didn't find that fun?... And you have issue with heelies? In fact how many of you STILL do it.

Uh... actually, I did do this, and I think I took out a couple of chip and soda displays on more than one occasion...

I got rightly bitched at when it happened. Nowadays, you can't do that or the parents will get mad and file a complaint with corporate.

The point was: Kids scooting around stores is nothing new, and the people who deny heelies as a kid would be neat/fun, who did the EXACT same thing when they were kids. You did it, you had fun. You were a kid. Heelies aren't even nearly as accident prone as shopping cart crusing.

Even so I wasn't really talking blitzing with shopping carts. I was just talking the little crusing. And even so, kids will be kids, and life goes on. Definitely not along the lines of "Clotheline the nearest cruising kid" level of world catastrophe.

Just admit it, you're all a bunch of old crotchity people now! Those damn kids and thier one small wheel crusing shoes!

Edit: And wouldn't doing something that's trendy purely for the sake of following the trend make you a conformist? Being pretty much the EXACT opposite of being a NON-Conformist?

i hate those heelies and the kids who use them and the parents who sit back and watch the kids annoy others but say nothing.

and yes, they are annoying inside, the kids speed around do not look where they are going and run into shopping carts don't look before turning down an aisle etc etc etc...

outside, fine.

go into a building, shoes damnit.

Good Lord, that sucks, I know I've bitched at the kids when I used to work at Vons. And watching a shelf of wine get knocked over isn't fun. The parent wasn't even in the store, and we managed to get the woman to pay for the damage. and the kid got his shoes taken off by that mother and tossed out in the store, man was that a good feeling to watch and have the store owner be the one to catch it (he was stocking further down the aisle).
