All I can say is that the recipe called for six hours, we cooked it for almost eight, the juices were clear, and that bitch was raw in the middle.

(1) How far did you impale the fork?
(2) Was the bird frozen, semi-frozen or fully thawed?
(3) What is the air-speed of a coconut laden swallow?

Deep fried turkey is great and easy if you know what you're doing, but sadly most people just go the route of "Heat oil, drop turkey in, call fire department, go to burn ward"

Yeah. I saw all the stuff Alton Brown did to keep things somewhat safe when he did on Good Eats. That was alot of work. Didn't seem worth it.

I believe in the existance of magic, not because I have seen proof of its existance, but because I refuse to live in a world where it does not exist.

Aside from the ridiculously over the top "turkey derrick" thing, what hard work was there? Certainly far less than baking a turkey.

The trick is to let the bird thaw beforehand. If you drop something frozen into something boiling, a reaction of painful proportions is a guarantee. However if you make sure to account for the displacement of the oil (as not to cause overflow), and gently lower in the thawed bird, then you really shouldn't have any problems.

His eye sockets were burned out by demonic fire and in their place the fire still burns, giving him sight beyond normal but hideously scarring his face, which is why he wears the wrap around his eyes. In more detailed showings of him you can see the glowing fire behind the wraps, like in that massive Illidan statue they made
