HAHA! I read that as the ChronicHerald at first.

Thumbs up to whatever cop or concerned parent was willing to break into that guy's house to steal a camera for the police.
"He lets the last Hungarian go, and he goes running. He waits until his wife and kids are in the ground and he goes after the rest of the mob. He kills their kids, he kills their wives, he kills their parents and their parents' friends. He burns down the houses they grew up in and the stores they work in, he kills people that owe them money. And like that he was gone. Underground. No one has ever seen him again. He becomes a myth, a spook story that criminals tell their kids at night. 'If you rat on your pop, Keyser Soze will get you.' And nobody really ever believes." - Roger 'Verbal' Kint, The Usual Suspects

Uh, someone broke into his house to steal shit, and in that process stumbled upon the camera. They didn't go in there for the sake of finding it.

It is poorly worded, but it isn't they found a video camera with porn on it, the vigilante broke in and taped the kiddie porn that was on the guy's computer. Granted he probally used the guys own camera to do it. However I doubt a burgler would sit there and turn on a compter long enough to find the kiddie porn, rather than nab the computer outright.

Police retrieved the camera and soon realized the burglar had videotaped a computer monitor displaying images of child pornography.

And?

"A Red Deer man has been jailed after an outraged burglar spotted massive amounts of child pornography on his computer and called police."

To be fair, it could be taken both ways. I'm leaning towards that heading though.

The computer probably wouldn't sell for enough money to be worth carrying out of the house. Most likely the burglar was after jewelry or other high-value low-weight items. A video camera might have been worth his time, but if he found something else of value, he could sacrifice the video camera for the sake of something that offended even a burglar's morals. You know, just in case there really is some sort of final judgement.

Did he take anything else besides the camera? If not, it seems like this is more vigilante-ism than anything.
