it was all about finding the dragonballs and so forth and then fighting nazis and then aliens and then all of a sudden it's about power levels and saiyans and shit and then they realized they did that for like a hundred episodes so they just moved back to the nazi guys and androids and of course more good guys had to die and then they went on to some weird magic shit and by then everyone was ridiculously strong and it sort of became a running joke so that was the end

The show went downhill after the frieza saga.

The only thing I like of the show is three movies tops.

The two Broly movies and the last one. Everything else can burn in hell.

Neverwinter Nights Characters:

Race: Dwarf
Name: (Kill) Kilinus
Class: Fighter/Weapon Master/ Doom Knight

The Frieza arc was one of the worst things ever to happen to shounen series. The 5 minute fight between Goku and Frieza took up about two seasons. It was barely shorter than the entire Soul Society arc in Bleach.

I think the Frieza Saga was supposed to be the original end of the series.

No. It wasn't. The Frieza Saga hit the manga wall. All the charging up, retarded dialogue, sequences of the planet crumbling were Filler until Toriyama got some new material.

Since it didn't go over so well, they didn't do that anymore and simply did side-stories like the Afterlife Tournament and the Garlic Jr. Returns arc. All of DBZ aside from that kind of content is in Manga form.

Why not?

Well, really, the only thing that was "settled" through a tournament was the fight with Cell. All the other Tournaments were just normal martial arts tournaments, that they just happened to participate in and things go awry.

1) It got BETTER after the Frieza saga, reaching its pinnacle with the Buu saga.
2) The third plus the last TWO movies own anything involving Brolly.
3) That last statement was just stupid.

Shounen series like DBZ, typically use tournaments in order to increase the length of the anime/manga without having to use any real creativity. They're like filler, except they require even less work.

Yeah, Bleach is no better than Naruto. Maybe if it had stopped at episode 52 like originally planned it'd be OK, but the series will now go out into infinity like other shitty shounen with crappy filler arcs.

Bleach is pretty alright right now, at least. They only spend one or two episodes per plot arc. Does it get worse?

I must admit, the OP/EDs are pretty well done.

Where are you in the series? After the soul society arc ends, you get typical filler. Once the filler finally ends, it goes back to being your typical shounen if it follows the manga. Nothing special and I doubt it'll be worth watching. There's some far better series out there worth watching.

Mr. Parcelan
posted 10-30-2006 06:36:20 PM
Of course there's better stuff to watch, dur. But there's only four or five more episodes until the end of Book Two of Avatar: The Last Airbender and then we have to wait a few months until the next season, and then we have to wait all summer for the mid-season break and OH GOD.

I think it's still in the single digits episode numbers on Toonami, like episode eight or nine.
