I feel abit spendy this month. I want to get a new vid card since I haven't really upgraded this one in 5 years. The primary game I play is WoW and I want to be able to run everything I full blast. I want to know a couple of things. You will need this to answer them.

1) If I do get a video card that can handle WoW with everything at full, will my processor lag the screen still? If not, then

2) What video card will do what I need? And that is play WoW at full specs.

Your processor might end up holding you back a bit. Something like an X800pro/XT would probably work well enough for it. If you're not a fan of ATi you could probably do it with a 6800XT, but I wouldn't recommend a 7600gs. If you can find an ever elusive 7600GT in AGP that would be a good ticket.

If you're not against something obsurdly expensive, the 7800GS is the fastest AGP card on the market. Though it sounds like ATi is going to release an x1900 in AGP pretty soon which should destroy the 7800.

1. Get a 6800. Are you going to upgrade to 64bit or stay in the Athalon XP world?

Are you updating your motherboard/processor/whole shebang soon or just the video card? No reason to drop $400 on a card when your processor is going to bottleneck.

Well I'd have to find new video cards but do you mean something like this?

My optical mouse has been dying for a while. I need a new one. Can anyone recommend a good one in the $20-40 range?

He kills their kids, he kills their wives, he kills their parents and their parents' friends. He burns down the houses they grew up in and the stores they work in, he kills people that owe them money. And like that he was gone. Underground. No one has ever seen him again. Pretty much what they're saying is that your processor is going to bottleneck your entire system, because it's just too old and slow. In order to properly upgrade your computer, you're going to need to get a new processor, which means getting a new motherboard and ram as well. Then you can get a video card to keep up.

Your computer is just too old to do a piecemeal upgrade, it looks like to me.

Edit: And likely a new hard drive too, glancing at your DXDiag.txt.

Get a Logitech MX518, or and MX500. Or hell, just get a G5. All of those will work well.

Yes, what you listed should work, as long as that mico-atx motherboard will fit in your case.

I believe you will get more bang for your buck if you go this route instead, with the biostar motherboard.

Also, that seems to be quite expensive for a 6800GS, although that should work as well.

Keep in mind that you will never be able to upgrade any of these components in the future... AGP, s754 and LGA775 (for Pentium Ds) have all reached or passed their life cycles.

E: Oh, canadian $s...

That would be a pretty good upgrade. If you have the scratch to spare, I would HIGHLY recommend a whole new build on a conroe dual core. Core 2 Duo smacks the shit out of everything else out there.

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find a Conroe mobo that'll support DDR as well. Most of those boards are going to have a PCI Express slot instead of an AGP slot though, so keep that in mind when looking at a new video card. A 7600GT should be cheaper on PCI-e than a 6800 on AGP and it'll be faster as well.

A 6300 even pwnz the crap out of most things. Not to mention if you get enthusiast about it you can overclock damn near all of them to 3ghz or beyond. You need a good motherboard and DDR2 - 800 RAM to do it though.

Well I cannot buy from newegg nor will they take a Canadian credit card so I can't buy it and ship it to my relatives.

How is this Mobo and processor with this or this video card?

I'm trying to buy both items from Tigerdirect (canadian based company) so I can save money on shipping.

That combo and the the 7600GT will work together well, yes.

E: Don't get the 6800

Yep. Also, you're going to need a heatsink + fan for that, it's an OEM processor.

But that'll be a pretty good upgrade. The video card will have some life to it, and you can go dual core later on the processor if you want.

Do you have something to cool the processor with? You're going to need a new heatsink and fan, because the one you're using right now won't work.
