November 19, $249.99

Looks like there's going to be good sized amount of games available at release, along with a strong stable of games to be released in the months following. That's refreshing, given that most consoles dry up immediately post launch, and stay that way for at least a month or so.

Noteworthy Games at Launch.

LoZ: Twilight Princess
Excite Truck
Trauma Center: Second Opinion
Call of Duty
Super Monkey Ball
Elebits
Splinter Cell: Double Agent.

There's gonna be about 31 total, unless I misread that, but the full list has yet to be given, at least to the places where I've read this news.

Metroid Prime 3, and Mario Galaxy are gonna be 2007 releases. Sadf.

EDIT: Yes, I did misread that. 31 games going to be available in the launch window, with about half of that being available on release.

A nice note for me is that I have the entire Gamecube library to enjoy since I never owned one

Not that it has a huge library, but there are certainly a few great games I need to check out.

ZOMFG

You need to get both metroid primes, celda, mario kart double dash, and mario strikers soccer post haste!

I actually borrowed my friend's Gamecube one summer while he was in Japan and played the first Metroid Prime and Celda and I've played Double Dash with friends

The rest of it, though! I've played SSBM quite a few times but it's probably worth picking up anyway

Other than that, you're not missing much. Melee is the only reason to own a cube.

You probably won't need to bother with Melee if you wait for Brawl. Like most fighting games, there's generally little point to owning anything but the most recent release. Smash Brothers has yet to be an exception.

Between Zelda, Trauma Center, and the later releases of Metroid Prime 3, SSBM, and possibly Mario, that's more then enough to sell the system for me. Red Steel could be good too, and I'm looking forward to Day of Disaster.

Finally, the RE game that's due out mid to late 2007 is appealing too, if what I've heard of it is true.

But I imagine it'll be either A) ruined by the controller, or B) available on another console.

DDR and the Wii aren't comparable. I know this.

You only look retarded in DDR if you A) Suck and flail around everywhere or B) Are trying to freestyle.

You will look retarded playing the Wii no matter what.

Doesn't make either of them potentially not fun, though.

At one time, however, many people did say that people looked stupid while playing DDR. I didn't say NOW, since many people's opinions have changed towards DDR.

I'd think it'll be the same way with the Wii. Everyone will be all like "oh god, i feel stupid playing like this" and then people will get over it.

See, though my point is that people playing DDR don't look any stupider than people exercising unless they flail around madly.

I agree, but my point is that the game wasn't always seen in that light.

I remember when the game started gaining some popularity at my high school, and some friends commenting on how it was the gayest thing they'd ever seen.
