Anybody else having a fucking stupid ass time trying to get the downloader to patch the fucking game?

Mine keeps freezing at 126MB downloaded then giving me alternating messages of Tracking path lost or Your computer is protected by a firewall even when I shut all security off on my damn computer....grrrr.

And before anyone says it: Yes I am getting the patch elsewhere. Just mad at having to wait in line at FilePlanet.

It freezes up and says "tracker not responding" but if you just leave it for a while after that, it will resume working. That's how I got the patch.

If that doesn't float yer boat, there's always wowpatch.info

I had that trouble with the Blizzard Downloader last patch until I forwarded ports 3724 and 6881-6999 on my router. Never got that firewall warning again, and it's worked fine.

It took a while to d/l the other 17 percent today though, and for a long time, I was uploading more than I was downloading, but it got through.

Did that along time ago with my router and just checked the setting and those ports are enabled just fine. This is a new computer though so going through all the settings. It might be the Google Toolbar that came setup with the browser since that is mentioned on the Blizzard help page (when it actually is up...)

Come to get it at the site I work at! We tend to get patches pretty fast over there. Sure, we have download lines, but the speeds are pretty damn fast.

Well, I did everything the help pages say about Routers, Firewalls, and other problems. Nothing worked when I left it up 3 hours while I ate and watched Nightwatch. Got like one more MB before just sitting there and doing nothing.

And the ones that Maradon linked seem to be corrupted to me.

Trying Fal's stuff now.

I do not know what kind of crazy stuff they put in with this patch... the servers are lagging like crazy and for some reason, /4 is total global chat. Aiee!

A myriad of minor things.

Bag colors are changed seemingly at random, lots of screens have new and fantastic backgrounds.

with the bank window open, shift+b will now open all your bank bags as well as your carried bags. Bag windows will now resize automatically if you open too many bag windows at once.

course there's the whole scourge thing.

Warlock fear is reportedly lasting to full duration almost every fucking time in PVP unless you nuke the target directly. This makes me very happy.

Lightwell only takes 1.5 seconds to cast now, and are.....larger!

Oh wow, that TOTALLY makes it worthwhile. I mean, the whole point was to heal people between fights right? A great choice for a Holy Priest's ultimate ability.

No, haha, the whole point of lightwell is to have hassle-free healing for the ranged groups which won't be taking damage on a regular basis so you can focus more on the groups that ARE taking regular damage.

Lightwells are invaluable on the drakes and chromaggus and are an indespensible part of my guild's twin emps strategy.

The 'idea' is there, I've used lightwell in BWL and the rogues/warlocks love me for it. I'm just dissapointed with how it doesn't help heal the main tank. When I think if who's healing the DPS, I think of shaman, druids, or any extra priests.

Lightwell has a place in the holy tree, but I don't think it's at the very bottom.

You sound like The Quon.

We shamans have to try and keep the main tank up too you know.

Oh, I agree that shaman are important to help heal the MT. I think lightwell can be useful in some situations, what I lament is how it's not useful in almost all situations like most other 31 point talents. It's the same complaint that's been constantly coming up on the priest boards, (Leading to some pretty cruddy alternative talent ideas) that they've tried to fix this patch by making it larger.

Wait, most other 31-point talents are useful in almost every situation?

For Priests, Lightwell has it's uses now and then, and Shadowform is fucking worthless in most situations. I can only see Power Infusion getting use 100% of the time.

For Shamans, Stormstrike is pretty useless in almost ANY situation except PvP. Mana Tide is the only "can be used effectively at any time" talent, and Elemental Mastery will only get SOME use in a raid situation.

For Druids, Moonkin Form and Leader of the Pack are both situational. If you have to be healing, then both of those 31 point talents are damn near useless. Swiftmend is the only talent that has near 100% usefulness in most situations.

Actually, very few, if any, classes have 3 31-point talents that are useful in all situations.

Yeah, you would to when you show up to ony and realize right as the leader calls to zone in that you don't have your key. Happens to at least 5 raid members every ony raid I'm on.

ZF hammer, you mean, and i could care less about that since i destroyed mine about 8 months ago

Yeah, guess what, some of us need to have sets for nature resist, fire resist, chance-to-hit, HP, shadow resist, and now frost resist as well.

So when they start giving out thirty slot bags then yeah maybe I'll lug all that shit around with me.

Gear bags. Only hold soulbound gear, but has as many slot as the profession specific bags. Would be incredibly hot.

I carry fire and nature resist already, and am stocking up on frost and shadow. Now admittedly, I don't need all that other spare gear, just a 2hander and some trinkets. And I don't have to worry about soul shards either.

I still think Blizzard just needs to give in and put banks in front of all the major instances.

The point is that some of us are rightly irritated that we can't put the drakefire amulet or scepter of celebras on our keyrings when they're both fucking keys and reducing clutter as a result of too many goddamn instance keys was kinda the whole point of the keyrings.

What's it do again? It eats up a Rejuv charge for a quick heal, right?

On my servers, Druids are still being denied groups if they don't have it. Bummer for them.
