is there an easy (free) way of ripping dvd's to .mp4? The only place I've found that has a tutorial to convert with freeware required like 9 downloads and the soul of my first born...

thanks

I have ripped most of my DVDs to play on my ipod Video. However since I use a Mac I don't think I can be much help. I would imagine any Ripping software would work in some way shape or form.

yah, it seems that every piece of software I can find out there either only allows you to rip the first 5min of each file or stick a watermark on the damn screen.

Doom9 is a pretty good resource. I know it is quite possible to rip DVDs for free with no watermarks. Definitely done it. Though I lost all my links on how to do it. Gordian Knot is a program you'll definitely want to look into.

ok so i decrypted my dvd with dvdFab, merged the .vob files into one and then tried to use Videora to make an .mp4 but when i click transcode it only takes about 2 seconds and the output file is 0kb.

I checked the debug console and it says...
