And all because I happened to read this.

What I don't get is how she managed to not see or at least feel the train coming. Didn't someone teach her to look both ways before crossing a street or train tracks when she was little? I'll take my place in hell next to the Whore of Babylon, please.

It's almost like a Family Guy joke.
I don't know how to be sexy. If I catch a girl looking at me and our eyes lock, I panic and open mine wider. Then I lick my lips and rub my genitals. And mouth the words "You're dead."

She wasn't crossing the tracks, she was standing next to the tracks.

What got her was the snowplow attachment on the train that stuck out on each side.

You'd have to be fairly close to the tracks to get hit by anything attached to a train.

Edit: the article doesn't say anything about that. Where do you have your information from?

...true that.

I didn't really laugh at this, but it seems like something set up in a joke.

Well, it's not so much the article itself, but the story was on a local radio show, and the hosts did their re-enactment of it, complete with train sounds and the worst deaf girl imitation ever.

I'm going to hell because I laughed so hard at it that I was crying.

I got it from here.

My mistake- she was walking alongside the tracks, with her back to the train. She still wasn't crossing them, though.

Still puzzling what she was doing to close to the tracks and that she didn't feel it coming. Trains are big motherfuckers and even the smaller passenger trains make a good rumble.

See I didn't laugh at the first two links, but that little comment made me grin.

But yeah...Around here, if a freight train's coming, you feel it. Well off the actual tracks. I think this was just plain stupidity.

See I don't go for the extreme possibilities. There were a couple of kids in NC when I lived there who got killed when a train would rumble through at night. There was never any foul play or anything involved; people just don't take trains seriously in a lot of cases, or fool around because they're used to something like a car, which compared to a train can stop on a dime. Or the tracks (and the fact the train is "stuck" on them) gives them a false sense of security.
